Casey Driessen’s Blue Ridge Fiddle Camp returns for an exciting third year at the Brevard Music Center, August 19–22, 2026, culminating with the high-energy Fiddle Forward concert on August 22nd. Applications are open January 14th to March 14. Presented by Mountain Song Productions and the Brevard Music Center, this immersive camp features instruction from Casey, Swedish 5-string violist Mikael Marin (Väsen), funky-grassy fiddler/vocalist Kathleen Parks (Twisted Pine), Cajun & Creole fiddler Cedric Watson (Bijou Creole), renowned experimental fusion drummer Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit), and freestyle fiddle master Darol Anger as this year’s Artist-in-Residence. Bassist Bryn Davies (Darrell Scott, Jack White) and guitarist Clay Ross (Ranky Tanky) will join us as the house band, rounding out a powerhouse team of instructors.   Last year, the camp welcomed musicians ages 10-76 from 22 states and 11 countries. Players of many styles came together to create an unmatched atmosphere of learning, joy, community, and musical exploration. He showed me a tune called a monferrina from the Quattro Province region. At times, it felt like we were one instrument, ebbing and flowing, breathing in sync. Dynamic, conversational, and spontaneous. I like this setting for music, and I like this duo.
