At this year’s White Rose Essay Contest, Cascia Hall students swept both the Middle School and High School divisions, earning all six top awards among more than 250 submissions from schools across northeast Oklahoma with essays that demonstrated remarkable depth, research, and thoughtfulness.
The contest is hosted annually by The Council for Holocaust Education. This year’s prompt challenged students to examine how Americans responded to the Holocaust between 1933 and 1945. Using historical newspaper archives from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s History Unfolded resource, students analyzed how individual cities responded and reflected on the importance of responding to difficult situations in their own lives.

We want to thank our 2026 girls soccer program for an amazing postseason run. The Commandos fell 2-1 to Oologah in Saturday's state championship game. Cascia fell behind 2-0 early and cut the lead to 2-1 just before the end of the first half on an amazing goal from Claire Barr. Cascia kept the pressure on throughout the second half, but was unable to connect on an equalizing goal.
Our seventh grade students have officially completed their atlases! 🌍
Throughout the year, students studied the history, geography, and culture of Africa, Australia, Asia, and Europe. As the culminating piece of the project, they drew and labeled each continent entirely from memory as they completed their studies.
Students also explored individual countries and created projects highlighting fun places to visit around the world. We are proud of their hard work, creativity, and dedication throughout this year-long project!
Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Saints Alypius and Possidius, who were two of St. Augustine’s closest friends. St. Alypius and St. Augustine grew up together and held each other in high regard. St. Alypius helped Augustine start the first monastery in northern Africa. Their spiritual journeys in their conversion to Christ intersected when the pair were baptized together by Saint Ambrose. St. Alypius is known for standing in solidarity with Augustine throughout his life’s mission, coming alongside him as a friend and confidante, never in haste.
St. Possidius met St. Augustine after joining his monastic community in Hippo in 391, but eventually fled following a volatile encounter with Donatist extremists that nearly cost his life. He continued to keep in touch with St. Augustine through the years. St. Possidius wrote the first biography of Augustine, “The Life of Augustine,” detailing their 40-year friendship among the works and influence of Augustine.
The story of this trio of Augustinian Saints shows us the value in the longevity of friendship and what it means to be encouraging in one’s walk with God.
Finals week means one thing for math tutoring... standing room only!
Every week, Mrs. Benne hosts after-school tutoring for students across all math levels, creating a space where students can review concepts, ask questions, and prepare with confidence. Seeing so many students take advantage of this opportunity before finals was a wonderful reflection of their hard work and commitment.
Thank you, Mrs. Benne and other math faculty, for the time and care you pour into our students each week!
"Rejoice thus, and wherever you are, as long as you are here, the Lord is very near: do not be anxious about anything." -St. Augustine
Good luck on finals, Commandos!

#ThrowbackThursday: Hacky sack reached its peak popularity in the 90’s. Now, it’s making a comeback here at Cascia! Groups of students have been enjoying playing hacky sack in our Headmaster’s courtyard during their break and lunch these past few months. Hacky sack has given them a way to enjoy the nice weather while cultivating a sense of community. In the fall, students will be able to purchase hacky sacks in our Commando Bookstore.
Our photography students are using lens balls and light painting to create a pop of color with the camera. These two techniques manipulate light to produce unique images.
For #NationalPhotographyMonth, we’re showcasing the creative work of Mr. Weaver’s photography classes. Students learned how to take low-light photos using different backgrounds to create these interesting effects.
