During this year’s Art Auction, we were truly privileged to be able to present the annual Governor Barbara Legacy award to honor the memory and service of Bill Dickey. Bill’s life was momentous, and it is a challenge to capture how much he impacted the lives of our community. Perhaps, though, this awards namesake, Governor Barbara Roberts, comes the closest to expressing the deep respect and love we all feel for Bill ❤️

For more than 4 decades, CAP has led with a spirit of resilience and defiance to ensure all LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV can access the care and services they need to live and flourish. And despite the challenges we face, it is through the support of our community that we persist in that charge. Thank you to all of the staff, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and guests who made this year’s annual CAP Art Auction a truly inspiring evening.
In times when things seem darkest, our hope shines brighter, stronger, and more vibrant than ever. We are proud to be in this moment with you all ❤️
Saturday's CAP Art Auction was a night to remember, and it would not have been possible without the organizations who stepped up to support our mission.
To each and every sponsor who helped make this year's event a success: thank you. Your generosity and support fuels the affirming, compassionate care our community counts on.

For Women’s History Month we honor Gert McMullin
In 1987, Gert went to a meeting about making a memorial quilt. There were only 5 gay men and Gert. she realized that these men knew nothing about sewing. So, she got to work.
The quilt that began with one memorial square in honor of man who had died of AIDS, now holds over 95,000 names. Gert never planned it this way, but over the decades she has become the Keeper of the Quilt and has stewarded it, repaired it, tended it, traveled with it and conserved it for over 33 years.

March is Bisexual Health Awareness Month 🩷💜💙
Bisexual people face a higher risk of HIV and STIs, often experiencing disparities in healthcare access and prevention, such as lower usage of PrEP compared to gay men. Stigma, discrimination, and a lack of tailored resources contribute to these risks. We use this month to help to raise awareness and to address these gaps.

I’m proud to represent a district where our neighbors show up for each other. To celebrate the community spirit that District 3 is famous for, we hosted a Resource Fair with the goal of bringing art, culture, and services to the families of Southeast Portland. We had community organizations, games for youth, and lunch!
