First time to the Starlight Theater in Kansas City. We saw David Byrne, it was great. Unseasonably cool evening but a delightful experience. Thanks for a fun time @iconover @jennabella36 @kengwhitney

My #spaceselfie just arrived in my inbox. Totally forgot that I had done this, like a year ago. Very cool @markrober

Long trek to southwest corner of Kansas. Door to door, 14 hours. My tall tripod and ladder rig worked marvelously.

Teaching one night a week at Newman University continues to be a delight and an honor. Tonight I decided to use a panoramic demonstration—and my 11-foot tripod—to revisit a class portrait that I took in 2017. @newmanuniversity

Saturday, February 28, 2026. Two images, taken about 15 seconds apart. Both shot on Ilford FP4, 1/30th at f/32 at ISO 125. One was developed in Ilfosol 3 at 1:14 dilution for 8.5 minutes, the other in Rodinal 1:50 dilution for 17 minutes. Dev temp was 66 degrees. I think the Ilfosol gives the image more of a contrasty bite, whereas the Rodinal is elegant in its lower contrast. Image with the silhouetted man and dog in center is the Ilfosol. Thanks to @tomleininger.photo and @conan.y.fugit with their insights as I went down this rabbit hole. A full video on this topic is now posted on the YouTube page linked in my bio. #filmphotography #blackandwhite #largeformat

New projector lamp. Glad that’s all that was wrong with the unit. I use it every single day, and felt like a fish out of water the last couple days as I was awaiting a replacement lamp.

I’m done with ball heads. Got this specifically for large format. But I’m blown away by how much better it is for leveling the camera when scanning negs. This one from @kfconcept didn’t break the bank. #tripod #photography

A lovely 60 degrees today. This is the halfway point of a favorite bike route of mine. Decided to revisit a shot from 2015 while I was there.

Four Arca-type base plates. Different thread/bolt lengths in each one. None of them tighten onto my camera securely. The base plates can still slide after maximum tightening. I have to resort to washer and paper shimmies to get them truly tightened to my camera. I think threaded hole on bottom of camera might not be deep enough (Canon 5D Mark III). Don’t have this issue with other cameras.
