We are heartbroken to have lost two artists this past week. They recreated and interpreted their worlds with their hands and leave behind work to remind us of their commitment to share this vision.
John Wilkinson's sculptures were contemplative, ironic and sometimes humorous. John's studio was a wonderful, chaotic space of flotsam and jetsam that only a true creative could incorporate into a masterful work of art. Jeffrey Macdonald's paintings and collages were lyrical interpretations of sounds and music. In Jeff''s words, " I was quite taken with the immeasurable variations of colors and shapes that are possible to conjure in one's lifetime. Combining that with all the emotions whirling about at any given moment seemed to be a place I wanted to go...to incorporate various tensions and energies. I can't help but draw comparisons of my love for music with my desire to make art."
