Faster cars exist. Rarer ones too — though 5,700 built keeps this firmly in exotic territory. But the Z8 isn’t about the numbers. It’s about what happens the moment you see one. That silhouette. That hood. The way it makes a Sunday morning feel like a film set. BMW never made anything quite like it before. They haven’t since. That’s the definition of a classic.

Rumor has it….that some stories are left unverified. Like if this 250 SE cabriolet in tobacco brown had a starring role as Kevin Costner’s weekend car in Rumor Has It.

A Cadillac V8 stuffed into a small British roadster. It shouldn’t work (and perhaps it didn’t given less than 100 were built between 1949 and 1951), but somehow the Allard J2 looks perfectly at home parked in Palm Beach.

Good coffee, better people and conversations about cars? Count me in. Some BTS moments and frames from a recent podcast recording we did at @sundaymotorco . Excited to help Matt Christ of @carsofpalmbeachfl produce his podcast, bringing together great minds to shine a light on Palm Beach automotive culture.

Is there another original owner 964 911 speedster still on the road? Probably not. But in Palm Beach you’ll regularly find this original owner, paint-to-sample Polar Silver example cruising around town in between rests from cross-country trips. The 964 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of those cars that exists less to be driven hard and more to make a philosophical point. Built in vanishingly small numbers (approximately 400 I believe), it was Porsche quietly reminding the world what mattered most: air-cooling, a short, rakish windshield evocative of the classic 1950s era 356 speedster, no rear seats, and absolutely no interest in convenience if it interfered with the driving experience. And yet, it can comfortably carry two across a continent without hesitation. Many collectors will argue that this is peak 911. As cars became heavier and more tech laden in the 1990s, the 964 speedster seemed built as if it knew a certain era in analog sports cars was drawing to an end. This was Porsche distilling that era into its purest form. No turbos. No nannies. Just steering feel, mechanical honesty, and that unmistakable silhouette reminiscent of the days when James Dean piloted one. This particular model could command its own exhibit at the Porsche Museum. It is a one owner example, lovingly cherished by @thelaurencekenyoncompany since he picked it up from the Zuffenhausen factory in September 1993. Not entombed. Not trailered. It’s been driven properly, including cross-country miles, exactly as Ferry would have intended. This rare paint-to-sample Polar Silver over black example looks exactly where it belongs. Between past and future. Before everything got complicated.

Some cars are built for concours lawns, others for late-night drives. A silver over sunshine Stingray like this? It’s perfect for a diner parking spot, a styrofoam cup of coffee, and the unmistakable feeling that you’re looking at peak American design.

Nothing pairs better with a 912 Targa than a morning that looks like it was lifted from a Kodachrome slide found in an old drawer on Cocoanut Row. Silver paint sparkling, red interior glowing like the inside of a cabana at the Colony, and the whole car looking about five pounds lighter with the roof off. The weather was peak Palm Beach: crisp air, warm sun, not a cloud working today. If there’s a better way to start a day than an air-cooled flat-four and perfect weather, I haven’t met it. @nickvorderman has found the perfect mascot car for @sundaymotorco .

If you needed proof that season’s underway in Palm Beach, look no further than the Phantom out front of Sant Ambroeus. The Rolls Royce Phantom isn’t so much painted as sculpted. It’s a slab of jade with heated and cooled seats and 200 pounds of leather.

Because I’m a sucker for British sports cars, I am in frequent need of high quality mechanical services. Fortunately @thepalmbeachgarage has spent decades taking care of folks similarly afflicted with a love of classic and modern exotic cars. Their garage floor is so clean you could mistake it for the living room of a small cottage off S. County. From routine maintenance and detailing to full restorations, they handle everything in-house — from wheel refinishing, upholstery dyeing, and convertible-top repair to paint-less dent removal and vintage car restoration. Whether it’s a Bentley, Aston, Jaguar, or Ferrari, they’ve seen it all (and probably made it better). Family-owned and trusted in the Palm Beaches for over 25 years, they offer OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and even courtesy pickup and delivery — so your car can get first-class service. 📍 1137 53rd Ct N, West Palm Beach 📞 561-223-3984 🌐 thepalmbeachgarage.com #sponsoredpost #carsofpalmbeachfl

Sunday coffee runs to @sundaymotorco never miss. On the menu today, besides my favorite prosciutto, lettuce, and tomato sandwich with a latte: A Jaguar XKE (series 1.5) finished in a desirable British racing green over tan, an unmolested Ferrari 250 GT (someone correct me if I’m wrong) with beautiful patina, a BMW M roadster in all its 90s glory, a @thelaurencekenyoncompany one-owner 1994 Porsche 964 speedster in a perfect shade of polar silver over black. A quick pop in @theroyalpoincianaplaza where a Bugatti Chiron sat on its throne at the valet stand. Just another Sunday drive in Palm Beach…
