At @carrow_house we gather impact data annually from our resident VCSE organisations to understand and showcase the real value of a community built on sharing, supporting, and collaborating 🤝

Clare gave a fantastic overview of who Voluntary Norfolk are, why people choose to volunteer & the many different ways people can get involved; from Trustee roles, event support, remote volunteering opportunities & so much more.
It was also great to learn how to explore opportunities through the Get InVOLved website, access free training through Get InVOLved Skills, & hear about the Norfolk Volunteer Passport Training, a brilliant pathway for anyone wanting to build confidence & take their first step into volunteering.
Most importantly, the session created space for open discussion around barriers to volunteering & what would help make opportunities feel more accessible & welcoming for everyone 💬💛

Norwich Unity Hub isn’t just a space, it’s a place where people come together to share, support, and celebrate one another.

🧱🕯️🍯 Today is the Senses of Unity Festival at Carrow House in Norwich where my studio is, in Carrow House Creatives. It’s a celebration of the community here - the artist, charities, CICs, everyone involved in this brilliant place. We were invited to create a piece inspired by what the place meant to us - this linocut print is inspired by Old Carrow House, with its wooden passageways, hidden cellars, beautiful glass Orangery and the people who now fill the corridors. The pastel ink colours in this jigsaw linocut are for the five senses. Old Carrow House was home to the Coleman family (of Coleman’s Mustard) who lived and worked here. It’s a real place of Norwich history and it’s a lush place to be everyday.

‘Do the muntjac know thy secrets?
Mustard, vaults and cellars.
Folks forgotten by time
Fill thy passageways once more’.

This event is a showcase of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Carrow House. Meant to take you through a journey of the senses, so you can interact through touch, taste, smell, and hearing, and proprioception (spatial awareness). 👁

For those who don't know Art4Youth is a CIC, that means we run our Art programme for FREE to children from underpriviledged circumstances. There is a space for everyone, so come along and see what we are all about! 🎨
