WEDNESDAY - KENNEDY SPACE CENTRE as it happened
2nd launch attempt of CRS-34 and the chances are looking a lot better at 35% “Go For Launch”
BABY BOX-E is safely on board and we all went out in the Kennedy coach for a second time but this time we could get even closer on the “bleachers” (wooden seats as a grandstand) to watch launch …
So we waited for some rain to go
It was looking good
Then it was looking REALLY good so we were all allowed up and took our seats
So exciting
New boundaries in manufacturing in space about to be broken by Bio Orbit
Katie and her amazing co-founder Leonor (based in Holland) were beyond excited as were all the team 🥳❤️
We sat and we were counting down to the final launch window at T minus 28 seconds and then
IT WAS SCRUBBED
Lightning very locally in the area and they wouldn’t launch quite rightly
So all the cargo was unloaded and the Bio Orbit team went into their laboratory here at Kennedy at 4am and they had 6 hours to unload the trial drugs and reload a new set for this reactor …
All good and it went well so BABY BOX-E will now try to fly tonight , all tucked up in her rocket once more

TUESDAY - Kennedy Space Centre … first launch attempt of Space X CRS-34 with my Katie’s world first in space pharma manufacturing BABY BOX-E scrubbed due to horrific weather …. Thunder lightning and torrential rain … one of the captions here is the video of the spray on the roads (roads nearly flooded) from the Kennedy coach window 😳😳😂😂
May 12th Tuesday was Katie’s birthday so we all went to the room which was booked to watch launch in the Apollo building where we were told the Apollo and Artemis families were based for launch 🚀
About 40 of us here including Katie’s team and investors and families and it’s absolutely wonderful
We did a pretend launch cheer to make ourselves feel better anyway in the empty Apollo building where.. very special
So after Tuesday we had to wait another day for 2nd launch attempt …. On Wednesday ❤️❤️

We’ve had two scrubs so far this week of the scheduled launches of CRS 34 but the weather has been horrendous BUT tonight it’s 90% good for launch

It’s been a week, a mad one but a happy one by tonight when the 3rd attempt at launch goes up up and away 🚀🚀🚀🚀

ANDY BURNHAM has asked permission to stand in a by election in Makerfield where he grew up.
The current Labour MP Josh Simons stood down today.
The Labour National Executive (NEC) has now to verify that Andy Burnham can stand. They and Starmer blocked him from standing in Gorton and Denton just months ago. Lovely @hannahtheplumbermcr won as we know 👏🏼👏🏼
I have been saying publicly including on stage last September at the Labour Party Conference where hundreds in the audience were Labour members and councillors that Starmer would never lead Labour into the next election and that Andy Burnham is a great politician and should lead their party …
I expected booing but instead I got a standing ovation such was the feeling after even one year of Starmer in charge.

I loathe the way our politics is run. It’s why I got involved in the sidelines.
I got heavily involved in tactical voting to Stop The Tories. And together we all did it. They have brought this country to its knees and waltzed off with billions literally.
Starmer came in promising change and to tidy up politics. And then he brings in MANDELSON !!!!
What next? The two Andrews (Tate and the Former Prince) to advise on women’s rights?
The list of his promises and failure to bring those promises to fruition is a long one.
I’m sometimes “accused” of being a Labour member as back in 2024 we had a two party system Tory or Labour for govt.
I’m proud to say I have always been independent of any political party. And also that due to tactical voting @libdems achieved their best result ever and so did the @thegreenparty at that time.
I firmly believe in proportional representation so that tactical voting would be obsolete and also in mandatory voting which exists in 1 in 6 countries in the world including Australia.
Mandatory voting has existed in Australia for over 100 years. Sometimes people get small fines if they don’t vote BUT what it does is stop extreme right or left parties ever gaining power as the quiet majority have to come out and vote.
The lower the turnout the more chance of right wing getting into power.
Let’s stop that together 🤍

Off to Kennedy Space Centre to watch my daughter Katie King’s rocket launch tomorrow night (May 12th is also Katie’s birthday, she’ll be 34 ❤️❤️❤️)
The company she founded and runs Bio Orbit is sending the world’s first prototype pharma factory for converting cancer drugs to the space station ..
It’s going up on the Space X CRS-34 rocket tomorrow night (Tuesday about 7pm local time)

And last night was about the coaches and the support and the businesses who support it all … the grass roots organisations , a proper celebration of the whole fabulous world of women’s football

Loads of us ended up at The Eagle Bar at the very top of the hotel . This building used to be the US Embassy in Grosvenor Square in London so they’ve kept the American Eagle 🦅 and wow what a view

Women’s football was huge during and after the First World War … with 150 clubs and some games getting 45,000 spectators all those years ago!!! Incredible
Then in 1921 some posh blokes in the Football Association banned women’s football saying it wasn’t suitable for young women.
So women had to play where they could in parks and battered fields. But they did it and 50 years later the FA changed their minds and allowed the game back into the light. But it was difficult.
I spoke on stage last night saying how now
it’s unstoppable … and it’s incredible for women of my age to see. The influence on young girls we all know is massive, so many girls in my extended family play at school and at weekends. Come on Tilly and Lola 🥳🥳🥳🥳
But for my generation it’s like a crowning glory to see young women absolutely smashing it with record crowds and record viewing and all of this on a world stage…. Because the unparalleled success of this sport is the strongest sign yet of women doing things on their own terms and without apology. Congratulations and huge love from me to all of you
