Ausnahmsweise ein Montag! Letzter Termin vor der Sommerpause! Generalprobe des Talks, der für die @bmxnet_e.v Konferenz im August konzipiert wurde: Caro Ley, Tätowiererin Nadelkunde - von der einzelnen Tätowiernadel zum fertigen Werkzeug Wie baut sich eine Nadel auf? Wie liest man ihre Eigenschaften an ihrer Form? Vom Durchmesser zum Taper, von den Maßen zur geometrischen Anordnung gehen wir gemeinsam die Schritte zur Entstehung des einsatzbereiten Werkzeugs durch. Auf dem Weg streifen wir industrielle Entwicklungen, kuriose Einzelfälle und die Werkzeuge, mit denen wir Werkzeuge herstellen können. Caro Ley Words of Counsel Vol. 2:  Ratschläge sind auch Schläge Komm, gib Ratschlag und lass dich beratschlagen. Du sitzt auf dem Klo, verzweifelst am Leben. Da schaust du auf deinen Oberschenkel und findest dort guten Rat. Aus diesem Gedanken entstand 2021 im Rahmen der Produktion “Full Melt Down” am Kampnagel die Idee zu “Words of Counsel”. Besucherinnen konnten aus dem Archiv Worte auswählen und manche davon endeten als Tätowierung auf dem Oberschenkel der Künstlerin. Das Archiv wird nun geöffnet und erweitert. Kathia von Roth - Dalmatiner werden eine wichtige Rolle spielen Erzählst du Welt? Erzählt Welt dir? Mein Gespräch mit der Welt bin ich einsam am ausschreiben. Seit Jahren. Damit es gesagt ist. Weil es die Welt verändert, ich habe es gesehen. Wieso schreibe ich das rückwärts? Weil es mich überrascht. Es sieht schön aus. Mein Unterbewusstsein auf Augenhöhe und dich an meiner Seite. Guck mal, ich will dir was zeigen. Die Ausstellung zeigt den Werkkomplex *punk wisdom for a world changing mindset* der zwischen Schrift, Zeichnung, *analogitalen Werken*, Performance und räumlicher Gestalt oszilliert. Ihre transdisziplinäre Praxis und deren Artefakte befragen das emanzipatorische Potential von Sprache, Raum und systemischer Umgebung und exponieren Spuren menschlichen Handelns, die die Betrachtenden in einem Narrativ von Begegnung und Selbstwirksamkeit situieren. Needle Soldering with Caro Ley A full day workshop 31st of May 2026, 10am - 7pm max. 6 participants (apprentices and self-taught are welcome 150-300€ sliding scale If you would like to come but cannot afford the minimum, please email [email protected] The workshop aims to give a better understanding of the architecture and parameters of different types of needles - round liners, round shaders and magnums. Caro will show and explain all the steps and logic behind the different configurations and their use. We will look at industry standards as well as some extravagant DIY examples. After lunch we will split into pairs and practice the techniques. You are also welcome to bring your own ideas and we will see if we can find a way to make them work. This workshop alone is not enough to enable you to solder your own needles in everyday life, but it will definitely help you to make better choices about the needles you buy and use. Originally from Heidelberg and now based in Hamburg, Caro Ley is an artist and educator whose practice is “radically tender.” With over 17 years of experience, her work exists at the intersection of queer theory, body politics, and embodied art. For Caro, tattooing is a tool for transformation and self-determination - centering care, consent, and trauma awareness in every session. Caro’s work explores organic stratifications and animist energies, creating a space where we can discuss the complexities of the human experience - from therapy and body-mind dualism to pain and collective healing. In her eyes, marking the skin is a way to anchor ourselves in the present while acknowledging our distance from birth and our path toward the future. As she beautifully puts it: “We bleed to prove our aliveness.” Caro has a deep love for tattooing with and over scars, viewing them as proof of survival and healing rather than just hints of a wound, and she is particularly interested in custom projects that translate intimate stories into abstract figures that empower and soften one’s existence. HYGIENE CLASS NIDO Sachkundenachweis Tätowieren I 23rd of March 10am-7pm 100€ We all should know, but we make and see mistakes every day. This workshop aims at creating a safer space for stupid questions and giving you the knowledge to make good decisions. From hand-washing to basic build-up and build-down of your workstation to the choices of products and handling storage of materials and tools to the architecture and surfaces available in your space. Questions include but are not limited to: What are micro-projections? How do disinfectants work? What is the difference between a skin disinfectant and a surface disinfectant? What is the germ-reduction power of soap and of different disinfectants? What is the degree of permeability of latex and why does it matter?  Is a 1 kilo pot of vaseline really a good solution? And why, oh why are we not allowed to have fake nails? This workshop is structured around the process of tattooing, going step by step through storage, handling, transport and use of all the different products, proper build-up and build-down of a workstation and the most common mistakes and dangerous situations we might encounter. We will cover microbiology and hand hygiene, surface disinfection and collective hygiene management. Including laws and documentation, of course. Sprinkled with some UV-light action. We will also ake time to address your individual concerns and share hacks for good habits.
