A solid 3rd place, and an unfortunate DNF in the next race. We had a great time cheering Bob on from the very full and supportive Brooklands balcony! 🏁 It was a weekend of stacked grids, 23 races, and a very important racing debut as @750motorclub took to the track - and another eclectic mix joining us in the CarNatter car park! “If in doubt… flat out!” — Bob Read A HUGE congratulations to our friend @bobread10 (@rgr_racing_19 ) on a very successful (and eventful) first race meeting, and on turning his dreams into reality! In Bob’s own words: “I think I’ve experienced the ‘Highs and lows’ of motorsport in a single afternoon.” After qualifying 2nd in class (11th overall out of 32), Bob was in a good spot to get his first racing experience underway. Race 1 - “My first ever race start went very badly, falling to around 17th on the opening lap. The car had great pace, and we managed to get our first ever podium in our very first race with a P3! 12th overall.” Race 2 - “A better start meant I only lost 2 spots at the start, with great battles all race with the guys in my class. There was plenty of overtakes and action, helping us reach P2 in class and 9th overall. With only three corners left, the engine decided to give up…handing us a DNF, just 3 corners from P2!!! Gutted!” Close to a double-podium on his racing debut, we hope the damage isn’t too serious on Bob’s racecar - which he had on rails before the blowout! Not bad for a “rookie”. Nevertheless, a memorable Sunday. We are super proud and happy for Bob, and his family and friends. It was great meeting everyone, and feeling like part of the @rgr_racing_19 team! On Tuesday we welcomed the Car Natter lot to Whilton Mill 🫶🏼 Amongst all the cool cars parked about, there was the opportunity to get some karting done with our National Circuit Arrive & Drive, followed by the CarNatter Cup - a championship within the CarNatter community 🚗 To take part in our Arrive & Drive activities on the National or International Layout, you need to be 14+ 🏎️ 💨 The experience includes free balaclava and gloves that you get to keep, but we also offer rental suits and helmets if required for your session 🤩 You will walk away with some experience under your belt, in addition to lap print outs for every driver 📈 Prices are from £42 per person, however we do have a deal right now letting you have the same session for JUST £27! The 60-Year Illusion 🏎️ One of these is a Ferrari Portofino. The other is a BMW Z3 in a very convincing suit 👀 While the vintage look is a tribute to the GT 250 California on a 1999 BMW Z3 chassis, it perfectly captures the soul of the 1960s icons that paved the way for the Ferraris we see today. A Cars & Karts evening full of variety, good conversation, and some serious racing 🏁 Thank you to everyone that joined us for our third Cars & Karts of the year!
