Gripping, poignant, thought-provoking, memorable. These are some of the words most frequently used to describe the achingly beautiful music of cinematic pianist and Emmy Award-winning composer Carly Comando. Well known throughout the interwebs for her viral piano ballad "Everyday", this stunning Orchestral version of her popular, powerful and inspirational classic is as perfect for the big screen as it is for personal enjoyment.
"Ever since I wrote 'Everyday,' I could always picture it as an orchestral arrangement. I always envisioned someone else making this happen, but I decided to take matters into my own hands. The original version is minimal in it’s instrumentation but huge in emotion. I wanted to respect the simplicity and emotionality of the song but add more layered movement. This version is different in that way because it gives more storyline to the song via the violin and there are several important melodic components to pick out. As an artist, I like to think that I have grown over time, so it’s an honor to revisit the song that established my career and breathe new life into it," says Carly.
“Everyday” is the score to numerous viral videos including "One Photo A Day in the Worst Year of My Life" (62 Million views) and "Noah Takes a Photo of Himself Every Day For 6 Years" (27 Million views) and was further popularized as the theme song for the NBA's “Where Amazing Happens” campaign.

CARLY COMANDO's debut single, the achingly beautiful piano-led "Everyday", is often described as inspirational, stirring and intensely memorable. It turns 19 today. It was recorded in a single live performance in just one take...no edits. This viral track was later included on Carly’s debut album “One Take” where all songs were recorded in the same manner…one and done.
Among numerous other viral videos including an appearance on The Simpsons, “Everyday" was used in the viral video titled "One Photo a Day in the Worst Year of My Life" (62 Million views) to create awareness about domestic abuse. Although fictional, the shocking video is a stark reminder that domestic violence is still rife, and that once it starts, it can be hard to escape from the clutches of such a volatile, dangerous relationship, with repeat offenses occurring frequently. The sign at the end reads "help me, I don't know if i will see tomorrow."
There are a number of reasons women can't "just run away" from a domestic violence situation, aside from feeling trapped because of circumstance. There can be denial, an absence of external support, hope that things will get better, shame over the situation and a complete lack of any self-confidence that could all make an escape seem insurmountable.
This notion is backed up by shocking statistics indicating that 3 in every 10 women have experienced domestic abuse, and that a woman is assaulted an average of 35 times before she even makes her first call to police.
We were honored to be involved with this project which we hope gives courage, strength and voice to all those who have suffered through abuse and are rendered silent by their abuser.

On her second full-length "Dreamlife", CARLY COMANDO reaffirmed her aptitude and skill for writing unforgettable piano-based instrumentals that are as perfect for the big screen as they are for personal enjoyment. Filled with 12 compelling tracks like early favorite "Daydream" (featured in this clip), "Dreamlife" runs the gamut from powerful to gentle and sweeping to sparse. A cathartic release of Carly's emotions, the new album -- five years in the making -- was well worth the wait. You just can't rush perfection. "Dreamlife" celebrated it's 10th anniversary last week.
"I recorded Dreamlife with the same mindset I had when recording One Take, which is to say that I would sit down and create a song in one sitting. But this time I went a step further by playing around with space, creating multiple layers of reverb and, sometimes, arpeggiation. It was my goal to create a rhythmic feel without having drums present, using instead strings and piano as the repetitive beat. But there are also some songs where I decided to leave the original piano track alone," says Carly.
Carly has numerous releases on Deep Elm Records including her viral hit "Everyday." She resides in Allentown, PA and yes, that is her real name.
"This is music that changes lives, opens minds, broadens horizons. An amazing pianist." - ANA
