One year ago, I made a decision. After carrying the world of MAUD in my mind for more than twenty years, I finally sat down and began writing the story that had lived with me for so long. Today that world continues to grow. This trailer is part of a larger vision — building the visual language of The MAUD Saga. Through cinematic teasers, concept scenes, and story development, we are creating the foundations of a universe that we hope will one day expand far beyond the pages of the books. In MAUD, the sun is gone. The world is frozen beneath an ancient curse, and every night those who die rise again. But long before the fall of this world… there were gods who fought their own father to protect creation. This teaser shows the moment they awaken after two thousand years. Today we unveil the first cinematic release of our new creative partnership for The MAUD Saga. This Prologue Teaser is the opening signal of a long journey — the first step in bringing the frozen world of MAUD — Heirs of a Broken Age to life beyond the page. A land where the cold is not a season, but a law… and where a sky without sun watches over a world that refuses to die. Created in collaboration with an extraordinary team: VFX designer, supervisor and producer @carlgrinter1 . Animator, compositor, AI specialist, music composer and sound designer Brian King. Together we scripted, storyboarded, and built this teaser from the Prologue of Book I — shaping characters and environments from my descriptions and early visual studies. Using structured 3D reference models as performance guides, the team achieved consistency of scale, lighting, and motion across scenes. I especially loved the final logo reveal. This marks the beginning of how MAUD will grow: one unified vision, one world, one story — built with care, continuity, and ambition worthy of a seven-book saga, while our own publishing team prepares the next chapters already on the way. 20-11-2025: Three Wise Monkeys had the great pleasure of undertaking a digital restoration of Onegin (1990) feature film directed by Martha Fiennes for a special screening happening on the evening of Thursday 20th November 2025 as part of the opening of the 10th Anniversary SO International Film Festival and Awards (SIFFA) at Vue Piccadilly at 19.00 pm. Originally shot on film and with limited time and access to any of the original film assets, Brian King and I put time in to clean up, de-noise and up-scale from a distributors original encode to create a beautiful rendition of this film as a DCP for screening on the evening, true to its original conception achievable in time and budget. The film screening is followed by a Q&A from Martha and should be a great opportunity to see this gem on the silver screen.

Behind the Scenes of the Born Cinematic film launching the Nikon Red ZR camera directed by @deanfreeman7 , with cinematographers @chrishudsn and @jc.fry (Josn Fry), who talk further about their experiences shooting with the camera across all of the launch films, produced by Luis Lange at @rockenfeller_goebels . All films were edited and graded by Christopher Hudson alongside Dean Freeman, with full post production workflow support, online finishing and audio mix from Moonlight Productions in Barcelona Moonlight Productions, who worked closely with Chris and myself, as post production supervisor (production side), to ensure delivery for all the 8 films happened in 4 weeks from shoot to approval for agency Hakuhodo Japan and Germany for their client's product launch of the Nikon Red ZR camera.

The Creative BTS highlights the experience of shooting with the Nikon ZR across the multiple launch films , equipped with a full-frame sensor, featuring R3D NE, a new video recording file format based on RED’s R3D RAW video recording codec developed exclusively for Nikon cameras, using the colour science and exposure standards of RED cameras to ensure accurate colour matching. The small highly portable camera offers two base ISO sensitivities, ISO 800 and ISO 6400, and a broad dynamic range of 15+ stops, with internal recording of up to 6K/59.94p video also supported. With 32-bit float audio recording, through both built-in and external microphones, with built-in microphone powered by Nokia’s OZO Audio offering five pickup patterns for hiigh-quality audio recording. The camera has a highly visible large 4.0-inch monitor and Is the lightest model in this Z CINEMA series at approximately 540g, enabling high-quality film production as all the launch films testify. The camera production and direction team and the post production copmpany Moonlight Productions in Barcelona put the camera to its ultimate test in a fast turnaround run and gun well organised production, which I oversaw as post production supervisor and producer alongside the team at Moonlight with special thanks to Alejandro, Marc and in production to Dean, Chris and Luis.

10.09.2025 - Dean Freeman (@deanfreeman7 ) directed this wonderful series of cinematic and emotionally touchable films for the launch of the groundbreaking Nikon Red ZR camera for production company @rockenfeller_goebels in Zurich with producer Luis Lange and agency Hakuhodo Japan. The films portray a romantic love story using the cinematic image to tell stories which touch and move us through emotion, beauty, intimacy and experience and the love that it brings in full colour and 6K cinematic detail through powerful hand held Nikon Red ZR Camera technology. Talented cinematographers Christopher Hudson (@chrishudsn ) and Josh Fry (@jc.fry ) worked with @deanfreeman7 to capture these beautiful vignettes in Barcelona, supported by post production and DIT workflow company Moonlight Productions. @chrishudsn worked closely with Dean to edit, audio design and grade the 2.5 min, 90 sec, 60 sec Hero films plus the Creative BTS and interview based films relating their experiences behind the camera. @carlgrinter1 had the task of post production supervising and post producing the films across a fast turnaround 1 month period from shoot to delivery with the production and agency teams spread between Barcelona, Zurich, Frankfurt and Tokyo, working closely with Dean , Luis, Christopher and the excellent team at Moonlight Productions in Barcelona. 22-07-2025 - Red Line for Gaza Event, Parliament Square, London - Oxfam is working with other humanitarian agencies – including Christian Aid, War Child, Choose Love, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/Doctors without Borders, Action Aid and CAFOD – on the Red Line for Gaza campaign. The aim of the campaign is to powerfully demonstrate that we stand united against the atrocities being inflicted on people in Gaza. Day after day we have watched the horrors in Gaza unfold on our screens as red line after red line is crossed by the Israeli government. Let's demand that the UK government takes action to stop this. The event began with a reading of a poem by Hiba Abu Nada, a 32-year-old female Palestinian poet who was killed by an Israeli airstrike in October 2023 with spoken-word poet Amerah Saleh, reciting a poem on the red lines that have been crossed in Gaza, through what has been lost and pressure the UK government to recognise the Palestinian State and bring their full political pressure to bear on Israel to end the war and genocide on the people of Gaza.
