Happy Fools Day. What better time then to post The Fool than April 1st? So incredibly happy to have gotten to meet @therealrobinhobb and get my fool’s hat signed ( along with a FEW books ). An absolutely lovely Wondercon and I had such a wonderful time. Anyone who knows me or has listened to me talk books knows how much these books mean to me and my history with them, so getting to cosplay Beloved ( two ways! ) this weekend and have a ROTE group on Saturday can imagine how over the moon i still am. Wearing Nico di Angelo at Wondercon this past Friday brought me joy I did not expect. I forgot how good it feels to exist with the results of my top surgery on display. Thanks to my hips and thighs, most people assume I’m a woman regardless of my flat chest, which is what it is. Having one day where no one used she/her pronouns when addressing me because they could /see/ me was an experience I didn’t know I wanted. Even better, I felt safe and confident. If looks were thrown my way, I didn’t notice and I just rode the high of /loving/ my body in this cosplay. I hope every trans person gets to experience this. I hope that someday this becomes a normal and common experience for the trans community.
