On May 2–3,
@caritas_tinou organized “Port of Peace” (Λιμάνι της Ειρήνης), a two-day festival dedicated to #peace, #solidarity and #dialogue, hosted at Sant’Antonio da Padova’s Parish Hall in Tinos. ✨🌊
Our Caschi Bianchi volunteers in Lesvos, Linda and Giulia, travelled to Tinos to support the preparation and implementation of the event, working alongside the local Caritas team to prepare the venue, coordinate activities, and help create a welcoming and meaningful space for the whole community. ✈️📍
Through art exhibitions, creative workshops, music, dance and writing, adults and children were invited to reflect on what peace means today. 🌈⚓️
Across the two days, the short film “The Present” (2020), directed by Farah Nabulsi, was also screened, offering a powerful portrayal of daily life under occupation in the Palestinian territories.
The festival included a fundraising initiative in support of
@caritas_lebanon and
@caritasjerusalem . 🌿
This exchange also provided an opportunity to get to know the work and daily experience of Paúl and Lucia, the other two volunteers of the “Universal Civil Service” program of
@caritashellas and
@centrocaritasudine currently serving on the island of Tinos. 🔎🫶🏽
A beautiful example of collaboration, participation, and shared commitment. 🕊️💫
