This is Laura, Ben's nanny.
After connecting on @caredotcom , she became more than a care provider to Jessica and Mike's family — she became part of it. For years she's shown up for their son Ben — who lives with an ultra-rare disease — and his siblings Mikey and Lily, with a kind of dedication that can't be taught.
Because of Laura, Jessica and Mike had the capacity to build @sallaresearch , a nonprofit dedicated to families like theirs.
On Provider Appreciation Day, we surprised her with messages from Ben and his mom Jessica — and a little something to help her finish nursing school.
Laura — thank you for everything. This one's for you. 💛
And to every caregiver showing up today and every day: we see you. Happy Provider Appreciation Day.

Working mom life is rewarding. It can also be exhausting. Here are 5 things that make it 10x easier 👇
1. A caregiver you actually trust. Finding reliable care means one less thing to panic about when life inevitably throws you a curveball.
2. A grocery order that shops itself. Instacart, Amazon Fresh, whatever works. Future you will be very grateful.
3. Knowing your benefits. Our 2026 Future of Benefits Report found that the average parent spends 20%+ of their annual income on child care. Your employer may be able to help offset that — it’s worth checking what’s available to you.
4. A group chat that gets it. Other working moms are your greatest resource. Vent, share tips, ask for recommendations. Community is everything.
5. Asking for help before you hit a wall. 53% of working parents have missed work due to caregiving challenges. You don’t have to wait until you’re overwhelmed to reach out.

The most demanding job your colleagues have probably isn't on their LinkedIn profile.
It’s caregiving.
They’re balancing meetings with care plans, deadlines with doctors’ appointments, and workdays that don’t always go as planned.
Maybe it’s time we normalize conversations like these.
Because when we make space for caregiving at work, we make work better for everyone.
