📍Hackney Wick
Tucked between Hackney Wick and Victoria Park, right by the canal, Carbobar is one of those easy, relaxed spots where you can go for a drink… and end up staying for the food.
The vibe is chilled, almost pub-like, with a big covered backyard (perfect for group dinners — there was one in full swing when we visited). They also host DJ sets on Thursdays, and it’s pet-friendly, which always adds to the charm.
Service was lovely — Enzo and the team made it feel warm and welcoming from the start 🤍
We had:
Roast Beef Carpaccio (£13.9)
Roast beef thin slices, micro mizuna, shaved parmesan, olive oil, balsamic glaze
Pizzetta (V) (£11.5)
San Marzano tomato, chilli flakes, oregano, stracciatella cheese
Fiorentina (V) (£15.5)
Tomato sauce, fior di latte, vegan nduja, spinach, black olives, egg
Pappardelle (£16.8)
Sausage ragù, pecorino cheese
Coconut tiramisu (£9)
The pappardelle ragù was a standout — rich, comforting and full of flavour.
Pizzas are sourdough-based, nice and crispy.
And the coconut tiramisu… so good — especially if you’re into coconut, as it’s properly loaded.
All in all, a laid-back spot with solid Italian food, great for casual dinners, drinks by the canal, or longer evenings with friends.
