ANOTHER #ffxivfanfest COMPLETE! This time was leagues better than the last (not only because I'm SoCal based but also because the weather was a lot nicer) and despite not being able to see for most of Day 1 because of my helmet, I had an amazing time and meeting people was so fun! massive shoutout to @syreniabyssi for being my handler and ride or die for the entire weekend and @humbleplebian for adding me to his ticket wuewueueue I love my friends so much. I was initially on the fence about even going since I was so burnt out after Dawntrail that I basically quit for the last year and a half (only subbed to keep my house 😭), so this was kind of my last chance to go all out in case I ended up not liking 8.0. BUT IM SO GLAD I WENT BECAUSE FANFEST WAS REALLY GOOD COMPARED TO LAST TIME OMG. i do have complaints, main one being that we were being rushed really quickly on stage while the other cosplayers in front were still on stage and a lot of people didn't even get their full 30 seconds, and the hall was so dark that it was difficult to see, but the line management and seating was really good this time around and the activities were more interactive than last time. I'm also very glad that Esteem was so well-recieved! I've been planning to cosplay Living Shadow since last year, and specifically bought Musou Black VL flock and paint on my trip to Japan to make sure he looks like a void lmao 😂😂😂 The smoke machine/hose system was PMI's smoke machine and smoke vest, but i was so crunched for time I couldn't test out the system until 1 hour before I had to leave so there's def room for improvement since the initial plan was for the smoke to come out of my shoulders too 😭aaaa fanfest just ended and we're already planning cosplay for next fanfest too #fanfest2026
