PRESENTING: HIATUS SONGS
I tend to center my projects around big themes and stories. But if I write a great song outside of one of those projects, it's still a great song... I had two great songs kicking around right when I went on hiatus last year, the first two tracks on this EP. Then I wrote A Sailor's Grave (my 35-minute solo musical about four pages of Dracula, coming soon,) which is the biggest Big Project I've ever done. Then about a month ago, I wrote two more great songs that didn't belong to anything else. Songs about myself, which I struggle to write in general. I was feeling sort of pent up last week and decided to make this EP as fast as possible to see what would happen. This was recorded, mixed, and mastered in 72 hours between 9/3 and 9/5. It is my most personal, most collaborative effort to date and I'm shocked at how well it turned out. Featuring Connor Storms, Jonah Ko, Justin Arena, Phineas Potter, Molly O'Leary, Emma Cashman, and Lily Collins. Now available everywhere: Hiatus Songs.
Gig alert!
I've been wanting to play a gig with Captain Vampire since last year when I saw their last pre-hiatus show. So stoked that they're performing again, and that we get to share a bill! Plus I haven't played a gig with C.J. since last year either, and South Street Farm is a kickass spot.
