Every color has a story đ¨
The treasure hunt for the origins of Birch Green led us to Munster, Germany, and the home of the largest color database in the world.
We take a trip back with @colorconsul , the Global Head of Design for @glasurit_germany , to connect the dots to how this fluorescent green became such a fascinating part of Porscheâs past.
Admittedly, when searching for his childhood dream car, @jfcowell didnât have Birch Green in mind, but one look changed that. Little did he know how much that 1975 Carrera would alter the course of his life for years to come.
Thanks to @carlas.usa , the second @rareshades film on Birch Green debuts at Rare Shades 7 in NYC with @000magazine .

Also who knew that H4 headlights said âHCRâ on them? (thatâs real)
These rice mill towers off Hempstead highway were around forever, but now this industrial landmark has been reduced to rubble. It always seemed like a perfect location for a car photo, and I attempted it a number of times, but I was never really happy with anything I shot there. I went back one last time, and I also wasnât really happy with anything I shot there, which seems fitting. But I left without puncturing a tire on rebar, so thatâs a win.
Swipe to see my various attempts with various cars over the years at the rice towers.
Springtime in the wildest Mini they ever built. These were assembled then converted to GP spec by Bertone in Italy, which is a pretty cool (and weird)

For the upcoming @hillcountryrallye book, there were thousands of photos to choose from the many talented photographers who attend the event. But I still needed some very specific ones to help tell the story â these are some of the original photos I shot for the book, available at hcrbook.com
