“TECHNICALLY INHERITED”
Recapping women’s HERstory month & looking back at the process I went through to execute these photos with the amazing women around me. I had the pleasure of presenting 2 very special flicks for @monadnyc ’s Signals & Presence exhibit during SXSW week in Austin Texas last month. These 2 photos are as close to home as it gets for me, honoring my mother, grandmother, telling a bit of my story & perspective was a special task I needed more than I knew. So grateful for everyone that helped me bring these photos to life and to the homies for supporting the exhibit! The story of the woman is divine and we celebrate that always! 🥂

“COLORS”
Colors have always been a big part of my love for visual art. When I first started editing my photos I’d definitely overuse everything out of the excitement that I could paint my pictures fr. Learning to be tasteful about my use of colors has been a journey for sure. 2023 I focused on improving my understanding of lighting. 2024 I focused more on my relationship with colors & storytelling. 2025 is all about composition & framing. From cinematography to photography this year has been defining for me in uncovering my style, and my focus on color has had so much to do with it. Haven’t done a studio photoshoot in a minute so thank you @imbarrett_ for getting me back in my bag for this one excited for what you have otw ! Cheers to another creative year 🥂
“ADOBE ATL RETREAT”
@adobe is a brand that from the time I was introduced represented unlimited creative potential for me. I knew I wanted to tell stories but I had no idea what tools to use and how to use them until a great teacher @twhite0531 opened Premiere Pro in front of me & a good friend @trapptheshooter gave me the game on Lightroom 🙏🏽. When I left school & lost my college Adobe account, my sister @forevasimonne let me flood her’s with 1000s of photos as I hit the streets and began my freelance journey. I’ve basically lived in the Adobe softwares for the last decade & expanded my creativity far beyond my imagination when I first saw that logo. Capturing this retreat, being in a room full of dope creatives with similar stories was a full circle moment that validated the steps that brought me here. God is good and I am grateful 😌🙏🏽 Once a shooter always a shooter 🤞🏾

“BLUE DREAM”
As the season of reflection and rest come to an end, I can’t help but think about all things I’ve had to let go of to make space for the fruits of the spring. Definitely be on my bag lady vibes because I’m strong and can carry it duh, but ya girl is tired and these bags ain’t even mine 😭😭
Letting go, forgiving, moving on it all comes with the tides and in the spirit of the Blue Dream I just wanna ride the wave, float through the endless blues from the sky to the sea let it be shallow or deep I’m accepting what I’m met with and leaving room for growth & change because it’s all just a mirror anyway. I’ve been forming a new structure and discipline to my flow. Desiring more stability and clarity in my adulthood BUT keeping it very P because I NEED my freedom and autonomy but that’s my business lol literally anyway here’s to dreaming & painting in all the colors this life has to offer from this season to the next 🥂

“DIVINE TIMING”

Might be the quickest shoot I’ve done in a long time, one of those moments that had me like wow there really was a time I was terrified of shooting in the studio. I didn’t know how to use any of the equipment, I barely knew how to work my camera. I would under and over expose everythinggggg it would drive me crazy and it felt impossible to understand all the mechanics of shooting but I kept shooting …
Although I’ve spent most of the last few years focused on cinematography and directing I feel like I truly get to see my growth with still images. Maybe because this is where I officially started 9 years ago. Maybe because I was told I’m a decent photographer and a full time career was unlikely. Maybe because it’s taken so long for me to genuinely love my work without judgement.
9 years later, as I reflect I realize how far this camera has taken me. From my granny handing me her Polaroid as a child to album covers, galleries, magazines, publications, achievements I didn’t even ask for and history I had no idea I’d be capturing. So much of these last 9 years I’ve kept to myself. Mainly for fear of being seen, drowning in grief, and external struggles I just wasn’t comfortable sharing that kept me hiding & endlessly hustling. It’s a lil uncomfortable but lately I don’t feel so hidden, and the desire to hustle my way through life is fading. When I committed to the camera in 2017 I told God, “I just want people to see themselves the way you do through my lens” and almost a decade later … The Marathon Continues 🙏🏽

“GOLDEN HUES”
Some of my favorite flicks from 2025, with the beautiful @zyahbelle this was one of a couple locations we shot at on our lil 2 day run. Creating with authentic women, who really get to it out here is always inspiring and fulfilling. 🫶🏽

“LOVE LETTERS TO ATLANTA” 💌
Last weekend I had the honor of featuring my work in @monadnyc exhibition “Love Letters to Atlanta”.
My love for the A runs deep so to showcase that with 74 other talented photographers that share the same love is something I’m eternally grateful for.
Capturing these 2 photos for the exhibit took me on a journey through Atlanta not only physically but almost spiritually, my goal was to speak genuinely to my experience with the city so I had to take a literal trip down memory lane a real lap around the A.
I took a YIN and YANG approach to the photos desiring to shed light on 2 connected but different elements
ROOTS & RHYTHM
Photo #1 - EA6 (Eastside Roots)
Signs are obvious markers to let you know you’ve arrived at a certain location, and this sign for me has always said welcome home. From Little 5 Points to East Atlanta Village I’ve been watered and planted endless seeds of creativity here, experienced milestone moments with my peers, copped countless fits, made mandatory stops for my 10pc from American Deli, and took the train from there to anywhere and back. I wandered those blocks allowing the vibration of the streets to inspire how I showed up in the world. The essence of the Eastside is embedded in my being, and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
Photo #2 - A NIGHT AT CASCADE (Westside Rhythm) There’s a unique energy that Cascade creates in those 4 walls there’s a joy, a freedom, a timeless rhythm that has captivated us all. It’s like when you’re there nothing else exists just you this endless loop, blurs of motion, and music that feels like it’s telling you to just keep rolling it’ll all be alright. It sacred, highly respected and so iconic to the imprint that Atlanta has left on the world at large.
