My next title completed from the backlog of shame!
I got this sequel last year on release after hearing great things and always wanting to play the first one. It's basically a slapstick sci fi adventure collectathon, which can also be played in co-op!
Despite its colourful presentation, Revenge of the Savage Planet sends you across four different worlds to capture creatures, pilfer resources and explore.
Although this is a pretty light game with not really any solid story aspects, it was still a fun time!

The sun is forever ☀️
The latest bullet hell shooter from @housemarque was released a few weeks ago and I platinumed it last week!
The visuals and gameplay is insanely good but in terms of difficulty it wasn't on the same level as Returnal. Whilst I appreciate the accessibility, it just didn't leave the same impression.
As for the story it also wasn't as good as the previous entry. All round a solid sequel but not as memorable.

Is this tag team fighter truly Invincible?
Amongst my many other activities this week I also reviewed the new fighting game from @skyboundgames based on the comics and series.
With an original narrative, fan favourite characters and bloody intense fights, this was one hell of a time. Although the short 2 hour campaign was pretty disappointing, it still felt like it was ripped straight from the pages of the comic.
Even some returning stars voiced their well known characters like J.K. Simmons as Omni Man. If you're a big fan and enjoy fighters I'd highly recommend but waiting for a sale or more content is probably ideal for most people.

The 80s synth music pairs extremely well with the retro-fururisitc tech of the Traveller as you come face to face with horrors in post-apocalyptic Poland.
As you delve into the mysterious surrounding the infection that started it all, just remember one thing; don't let them merge...

Once in a blue moon 🌚
Every so often, you may come across a game that consumes your whole life. You think about it at work, in the shower and when going to sleep, you can't get enough! Pragmata was one of those games for me.
Imagine Dead Space crossed with Stellar Blade, and you'll almost be there. Basically, a moon space station goes dark, and Hugh is sent to investigate. He finds Diana, an impressively advanced android that helps him on his adventure. The only flaw I can give it, is that it only goes for around 10-12 hours but there is plenty of side content and a hard mode to complete too. Graphics, story and gameplay are all fantastic but more importantly it left a special place in my gaming heart.

The return of Assassin's Creed?
It feels like a lifetime ago that we were glued to our seats hoping Desmond would save the world.
Since then it felt like this series has lost track of what its main goal was but one thing is for sure, the direct follow up to the original trilogy was a sailing success.
Now it's back, @ubisoft has announced a special trailer for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced in two days! Rumours suggest a June/July release and it will be interesting to see if there's any other enhancements other than graphical.

A Link to film 🗡️🎥
After the monumental success of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie (not surprising), the next big franchise from Nintendo to hit screens is the hero of Hyrule. To be honest, I'm not sure how well a live action Legend of Zelda film will translate but I guess time will tell.
Other rumours are swirling around the great Deku tree of another classic remake, Ocarina of Time! I think a visual and control update would be fantastic, for old and new generations to experience.
This comes as the series hits its 40th anniversary this year which is just incredible! So tell me your thoughts on the above, keen to see the movie? Want a remake? Or no to it all?

Universally High Expectations 💫
I'm not quite sure what people expect when going into a movie based on a game where you just rescue a princess. Over the weekend I saw The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and had a great time. It's a fun Mario movie with familiar characters and a typical Mario plot, plus Star Fox is in it! What more could you ask for?
I only first played the Galaxy games last year when they released the HD remaster and I really enjoyed them. So I had to buy this gorgeous Amiibo. The film adapts Rosalina perfectly, despite her limited screen time. If you want to be wowed by visuals and see some old friends then enjoy! For anything else I'd advise on watching something else.

Macabre but meaningful
Over the last week I got the opportunity to check out last year's award winning title South of Midnight. Finally arriving on PlayStation and Nintendo today, this is an action-adventure featuring the American deep south and its folklore.
Alongside the gorgeous stop motion art and beautiful soundtrack resides a heart-wrenching story. The themes showcased are heavy, but dealing with trauma is a part of life which makes this so relatable.
