Took a little video during my favourite gig to date, playing a SGNL]|[LGHT set at Phoenix Fire Convention 2023.
DJing for fire spaces is a favourite thing of mine and I consider Phoenix the best firejam in the world, so I felt the need to pull out all the stops. I worked for a week straight on the way to Germany constructing an epic 2 hour set of breaks based bass beats, pulling some of my favourite double drops from past sets and blending genres and tempos for the first time in public - a goal since I went to see Culprate and Mr. Bill earlier in the year.
To have the fire space so full, to see such epic vibes and spinning, and to have not only my friends but beautiful strangers say how much they loved it was such a wonderful thing that I will always cherish 😭
I love you Phoenix, and sharing my art and music with you is something I would love to do again and again.

Seeing my name on a proper lineup for Phoenix Fire Convention was a seriously epic moment that I completely forgot to document, so here's me losing my mind about how awesome my set was the day after. Big love forever Phoenix you were amazing
Every other festival sends the health and safety briefing as an email, SGP decided a 30 minute video for everyone with an artist ticket was a better shout....whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Keep losing my main hearing protection so stocked up on a helluva lotta backups! PROTECT THE EARS!
I've been more and more militant about ear protection the last couple years and it makes such a huge difference. General ear fatigue, headaches, the ear ringing after a festival - haven't been a thing for a while. And now I kinda hate having naked ears unless it's for short periods, or I think the artist has earned it (lookin at you Noisia).
Also with writing music and DJing more, I don't wanna end up deaf in one ear cause of a booth monitor - happy to feel the bass from it, but happier to have my IEMs at a reasonable volume in my ears please!
Buuuut I'm ADHD as fuck and keep losing them sooo time for a shit ton of backups. Nothing fancy but I tend to stand in front of rigs for a living, soooo yeah. L O U D N O I S E S
