I am pleased to announce that I will be participating in my first photographic exhibition, Dartmoor Light & Shadow, in September. This collaborative exhibition will feature the work of 25 photographers, including some of my personal heroes. I am honoured to be a part of this event and would like to express my gratitude to @laurenwiig for making it possible.
The land surrounding the exhibition was once home to an early practitioner of photography for scientific study. Photographs from Arthur Roope Hunt, one of the first photographers to attempt to capture the aesthetic qualities of moorland working people with a camera, will be shown alongside modern-day work. Hunt's work beautifully captures Dartmoor farming methods in the 1880s, his descendants still reside at the farm today.
The exhibition will be taking place within the historic 17th century Meadon Barn, I hope to see some familiar faces there 🫶🏼
