Building a brand is 10% idea and 90% execution. Don’t let a bad print job kill your momentum. Here is what you need to know before you start:
1. Fabric is Your Foundation - You can’t build a premium brand on "cardboard" tees. For brands and bands, the blank is just as important as the design. Look for high GSM (grams per square meter) if you want that heavy, streetwear feel, or ringspun cotton for a vintage soft-touch.
2. Vector or Bust - Handing a printer a low-res .JPG is a recipe for blurry edges. Always provide your artwork in Vector format (.AI, .EPS, or .PDF). This ensures your logo stays crisp whether it's on a pocket hit or a massive back print.
3. Master Your Palettes (Pantone is King) - What you see on your glowing computer screen isn't always what comes out of the screen press. If you’re picky about your "Cream" not looking like "Yellow," use Pantone (PMS) codes. It’s the universal language for printers that ensures your brand colors stay consistent across every batch.
4. Sample Your Sizing - Don't guess your size breakdown. If you're a band selling at a show, you'll likely need more Large and XLs. If you’re a high-end fashion label, maybe you lean into an "oversized" approach. Know your audience’s fit before you order 100 units.
5. The "Inside-Out" Test - Don't forget the finishing touches. Custom neck labels or hem tags are the difference between "merch" and a brand. It’s the first thing a customer looks at to see if the quality is legit.
