What started as shortâterm fostering became something more for Sid and his family.
From building trust over time to supporting identity and faith, fostering is about creating a place where children feel safe to be themselves. đđ
âIt took time⌠but we earned their trust by showing up every day.â
Sidâs story is rich with care and cultural connection - understanding who a child is and what they need. Thatâs what fostering is all about.
This Foster Care Fortnight, weâre celebrating the diversity of fostering and why representation matters.

After 35 years of working with people with disabilities, fostering brought something new to Trish and Philâs lives.
A chance to slowly and patiently build connection. đ¤
Small moments, like cooking together, help build trust and make a child feel safe.
Listening. Adapting. Meeting children where they are.
Through MATTs (Multiâdisciplinary Assessment, Treatment and Therapy Service), professionals work alongside foster carers - offering guidance, training and practical strategies to support children in a therapeutic way.
This Foster Care Fortnight, weâre shining a light on the real experiences of fostering and the support carers need to continue this vital work.

If youâve ever thought about fostering but worried youâre ânot enoughâ, this post is for you đ¤
Weâre so used to seeing perfection, especially on social media. But real life isnât like that. And neither is fostering.
Fostering is about showing up every day. Consistency matters far more than perfection.
Itâs about creating stability in small, everyday ways: the same breakfast the same bedtime routine the same adult, there day after day
You are enough. Just by being you.
This is fostering.

Right now, something doesnât add up.â
In 2021, there were 63,890 foster carerâs in England.â
By 2025, that number had fallen to 56,245.â
Meanwhile, the number of children and young people needing care has continued to rise đâ
This yearâs theme for Foster Care Fortnight is This is Fostering. And, it couldnât be more important.â
The reality is that too many children are waiting for a safe place to call home.â
Fostering is about creating that safety. đ đâ
Could you be someone who does that?â
Share with someone who does.â

Sandy, our Registered Manager at Capstone Foster Care UK, has been busy handwriting good luck cards for our amazing children and young people preparing for their SATs, GCSEs and A-Levels.
To all of you sitting exams: remember how far youâve come. Stay focused, believe in yourself, and do your best - thatâs all anyone can ask. Weâre all cheering you on!
Good luck everyone đâ¨
Here at Capstone Foster Care, we know that some of the best conversations happen side by side, rather than face to face. Walking together gives you the space to talk, listen, or simply enjoy each otherâs company, without any pressure. đśââď¸
So this National Walking Month, why not try a walk and talk⌠or even a walk and donât talk?
You might be surprised where it leads you. đżâ¨

Our Parent and Child Coffee morning was a chance for families to chat and be present with one another. Building friendships and connections that go beyond the cuppa. đ
It's moments like these that remind us why community matters so much in fostering.
