Last year at this time, I was still out there!!!
Holy Goat!!! It was -40!!!
As I put an entire deer leg into the pot to bubble on my wood stove, I reminisce about what I was doing a year ago today...
living in the coldest environment I’d ever been in ~ in a shelter I made with the spruce, moss, rocks, and clay from the land ~ melting ice for drinking water ~ trying to get the gill net I made set up under the ice ~ struggling with the frost bite on my toes ~ dancing in the Moonlight~ and feeling so deeply at home ~~
I am thinking about what I want to do to celebrate “my leaving the field anniversary” coming up next week....

Hello friends, I’m back!
Did you miss me?
Did you notice my absence?
Surely not, with all else turning and pulsing in the world :)
I’ve been away deep in the wilderness with my herd. It’s been a wonderful adventure, but also a time of deep reflection for me. I’m so grateful for time to just be.
I’m gently bringing myself back to the world of screens and all that comes with it, it’s been over a month without logging into this app, I know you know, but I’ll confirm, breaks are good, real good :)
Hope you are feeling the preciousness of your lungs expanding and contracting :)

The willows are budding, the bugs are biting, the goats are shedding their cashmere…. at long last, spring is here :)
Grateful for all that’s growing, blooming, budding, emerging from a dark winter under ground.
These last few weeks have been spent walking with friends and goats along rivers and over mountains, and now it’s time for me to go on a long solo. Well, a solo with my herd of coarse, so you tell me if that’s really a solo or not :)

Last few days have been windy, rainy, stormy, and it just makes the sunny days sweeter. All the plants smell so good with this nice drink from the sky.
Met a sweet road family at a trail head with starlink and they let me use it to check in with family and post this video :)

Hey friends! Registration for this summer‘s Wild Women on the water class in Montana opens this Sunday, March 1 at 1 PM mountain time.
last year, the class sold out in about five minutes, which was wild! So I am posted up on a hill top in cell service for the weekend to get back to emails and answer any questions before the registration opens.
