Start of a Bank holiday weekend 😁🍾🤪End of another really lovely project!🥹🫂❤️‍🔥🙌🏽 This one was made possible with funding from @officialsportengland who enabled us to provide more opportunities for movement + activity throughout Norwich, while also removing any financial barriers for low income and refugee families across our 7 weekly classes! 🤙🏽 During this time we also held get togethers and events for participants to help build and strengthen a sense of community in and out of classes. 🫂 Funding was used to pay for rent, equipment, teaching fees and promotional material. 🥳 As our funded period comes to an end we want to ensure that anyone who’s currently in the skint crew (a crew I have certainly repped many times) knows that we are always open to talking and if you ever want to attend a class but feel unable to afford it, then, together we can figure out a workaround 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 Its really lovely meeting all the different people and families that come to classes. Why are we jumping for JOY with our animal friends?(Well frog looks more like they just tripped over, but the intention is there) Delighted to share that we have received funding from @norfolkcf ‘Love Norfolk Fund’ to deliver ‘Movement and Music’ classes in Norfolk. Our lessons will be offered for free to people from low income families and refugees. Yooooo, @greenekingipa have donated to grassroots sports clubs via their ‘Proud To Pitch In’ community fund - totalling over £500,000. Capoeira Communities / @capoeiranorwich were totally hyped to be one of the funded clubs! Back in March we were awarded a grant to deliver 3 months of free classes to refugees and those on low income. This ensured that our teachers could actually get paid properly for all of their hard work in the city classes and we could offer them to those who might not otherwise have the means to join. Our aim was to open and strengthen our community, and we have certainly felt the benefits.
