Today’s game marks the @capitals annual Fan Appreciation Day presented by @michelobultra featuring pregame festivities at @districtedc and all-fan giveaways. It also has several nods to captain Alex Ovechkin and his historic season.

Logan Thompson is playing his 200th career game tonight against New Jersey. The Calgary, Alberta native has posted a record of 114-58-23 with a 2.57 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and eight shutouts in 199 career games with Washington and Vegas. Thompson’s 114 wins are currently the seventh-most among active goaltenders at the time of their 200th career game.
NEWS: The Washington Capitals announced today goaltender Charlie Lindgren as the recipient of the organization’s third annual Caps Care Community Award in honor of his efforts in the community during the 2025-26 season. Lindgren will be recognized ahead of the Capitals April 4 game vs. the Buffalo Sabres in a pre-game ceremony. Lindgren was surprised with the news that he is this year’s Caps Care Award recipient by his wife, Mikkayla; CEO of The Adaptive Athletics Foundation of Maryland John Edward Heath; and children from the adaptive sports organization So Kids SOAR prior to a recent team practice.
The Caps Care Community Award was established in 2024 to recognize an individual Capitals player annually for his contributions to the community. During the pregame ceremony on April 4, Elizabeth Pace, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSE Foundation) President and Executive Director, will present Lindgren with a check on behalf of MSE Foundation for $20,000 to be split equally between So Kids SOAR and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. MSE Foundation provided $10,000 of the grant, with Lindy’s Lineup making a $10,000 match. Lindgren will also be presented with the Caps Care Community Award Trophy by Capitals Director of Fan Development Caroline Potolicchio.
