Last month at the Capitalize VC AGM, Sidney Dillard from Loop Capital, shared her thoughts on the current landscape for consumer brand exits through M&A and IPOs. She had so many great insights! She noted that while the IPO market remains largely closed, M&A is thriving—deal values surged 194% YoY to $34.7B in Q2 2025 as acquisitions have become the primary exit strategy recently. She predicts 1-2 late 2025 IPOs will be the "canary in the coal mine" and thinks a successful debut could open floodgates for 2026, particularly in beauty and F&B.
