The ceremony honoured the lands on which we teach and learn and reflected a shared commitment to CapU’s future.
In his installation address, President Dewling shared his vision for CapU to become Canada's top teaching university, rooted in quality, experiential learning and meaningful community impact.

Today is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+).
At CapU, we stand in reflection, remembrance and solidarity. Across campus, inspired by Métis artist Jaime Black’s REDress Project, empty red dresses are hung in remembrance of those who are missing, those whose lives were taken and those impacted by this ongoing crisis.
We encourage the CapU community to learn, reflect and engage with the Calls to Justice and to consider how each of us can contribute to meaningful change.
Anyone requiring emotional support can call the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Crisis Line at 1-844-413-6649 (toll-free), available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
