My First CAPA Tournament (5.0, 8+) β Many More to Come! πβ¨
---
Finally made it out to my first CAPA tournament this past weekend.
@daniiii_california & I played Mixed Doubles 5.0 (8+) and our bracket had 21 teams split into two pools, and the competition was relentless. We played 9 games, almost non-stop with one quick bye. Worth every minute.
We finished the day with a 5-4 record, though I feel like it could have been 6-3. In our last game against
@adym.pk &
@myda.pk , we were up 6-1 and they played better than us to take the game away.
Out of the 9 games, there was just one game that we lost badlyβthey were definitely one of the best teams there and ended up winning Silver π₯ across the two brackets. Aside from that, we were right in the mix for every battle. ππ¨.
Useful statistics to build upon π: Across 9 games, we missed 3 serves, 2-3 returns, and 6-8 3rd shots. We would like to lower these numbers.
Tons of learnings from this one. It was great playing with Dani Nelson. We spent some time after the tournament dissecting all nine matches game by game. It was solid time spent, and weβre looking forward to the next CAPA we play!
Huge thank you to everyone who helped us prepare and everyone who reached out asking how the proceedings went. ππΏ
Special thank you to CAPA for the smooth conduct of the event. π€
Now, after an intense weekend of being challenged in every game I played starting from Saturday's
@uplsemiprocircuit (
@gsrpb ) matches against
@calabasascrush &
@laheatpickleball , time to recover and get back to the lab. βΉπΏ
If anyone wants to challenge my partner and me for competitive rec games, hit me up! Weβd love to schedule something. We live in Ventura County and are open to driving for quality sessions. π₯
Make it a great week.
