We'll be announcing this year's Cape Cod Womens Music Festival lineup over the next week! First and foremeost, we are so excited to welcome Gentlemen Brawlers to our stage this year (June 27 @Payomet Performing Arts Center). When Brooklyn collective Gentleman Brawlers performs, it's more than a concert: It's an electrifying experience. Led by creative duo Becca Fox and Matt Walsh, the band channels musical inspo Talking Heads with their distinct brand of Afrofunk and indie dance music. "If you can MOVE you can DANCE!" shouts an exuberant Fox from the stage — or from the dance floor, where she's joined the crowd. Gentleman Brawlers loves to engage an audience, and the audience loves them right back. GB has two distinct incarnations – live and in studio – that elevate and inform each other. Through a sonic blend of disco-based horn lines, sticky highlife guitar, and polyrhythms from West Africa, Trinidad, and Brazil, GB’s live shows ignite a community-based, improvisational energy; in studio, the band will often reimagine their songs through an EDM lens. Whether the audience is on the dance floor or pressing play, Gentleman Brawlers always delivers an exhilarating, celebratory experience. Acclaimed by NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest, WNYC’s The Greene Space, and the BBC's Tom Robinson as ""a virtuoso live band, grooving together like a beautifully engineered machine,” GB has opened for Grammy artists Cimafunk, Los Amigos Invisibles & Fantastic Negrito at Brooklyn Bowl, performed at Bryant Park's Dance Party, Perelman Performing Arts Center, Pier 1/Summer on the Hudson, Dumbo's Live at the Archway series and The Public Theater’s Summer Block Party. @ccwomensmusicfestival @payomet #feelbetter #communitysupport #capecod #Cancer #riseabove

I’m truly honored to be speaking on May 5th with the Cape Wellness Collaborative for their breast cancer support group. This conversation feels especially close to my heart. The talk is titled: From Survival to Softening: Nervous System Support for Healing, Stress, and Self-Compassion So many women I work with have spent months… sometimes years… in survival mode. Holding it together. Pushing through. Doing what needed to be done. And while that strength is real and necessary… there also comes a moment where the body needs something different. Not more pushing. But permission to soften. Because the body carries so much of what we move through. Not as fault… not as something we did wrong… but as a reflection of everything it has been holding. Stress. Fear. Grief. Uncertainty. The effort of staying strong for so long. And over time, the body speaks. This talk is an invitation to begin listening in a different way— to understand the nervous system, to gently support the body in releasing what it’s been carrying, and to reconnect with a sense of safety, compassion, and self-trust. It’s a privilege to hold space for this community. And to be part of a conversation that honors not just survival… but healing.

Diana and Ron Anderson of ProEvent are the powerhouse duo working behind the scenes to quite literally set the stage for it all! For years, they have generously shared their time, talent, and expertise with Dancing with the Docs and the Cape Cod Women’s Music Festival, and we are absolutely over the moon with gratitude for these two extraordinary community members. Diana is a guiding force for our Docs and Pros—coordinating rehearsals, helping with wardrobe, and making sure every participant feels prepared, confident, and supported. She brings a calm, steady presence that keeps nerves in check while building excitement for the big night and the meaningful impact it represents for cancer patients and caregivers in our community. Ron is the mastermind behind the staging, creating the physical space where all the magic happens. From building out the stage to jumping in wherever needed, he brings both skill and heart to every detail, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Together, Diana and Ron embody the spirit of collaboration, generosity, and community that makes these events so special. Oh, how we love the Frying Pan Gallery! And not just because CWC founder Sarah Swain and her husband, Steve, are at the heart of it… and not just because the gallery is such a generous and devoted member of the community. The Frying Pan Gallery is truly something special—a welcoming, light-filled haven where you can experience incredible work by local artists, with pieces that speak to a wide range of styles and price points. It’s a space that invites you to slow down, take it all in, and connect with the creative spirit of the Cape. That same spirit shines through in Steve Swain’s work, including the stunning light he so generously donated to our Live Auction. His pieces reflect a deep love for this place—thoughtful, beautifully crafted, and full of character. And of course, we simply wouldn’t be here without Sarah Swain. Her vision, passion, and dedication brought CWC to life and continue to inspire everything we do, including Dancing with the Docs. We are profoundly grateful to Sarah and Steve, and to the Frying Pan Gallery, for all that you give to this community. Your generosity, creativity, and heart make such a difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💖 📷 Organic Photography Cape Cod Weddings | Organic Photography Cape Cod Weddings | Organic Photography @ktorganicphotography @joeink #capecod #Cancer #CANCERSUCKS #communitysupport #feelbetter
