The ‘Grote Zaal’ was built in the 1970s and over the years its stage has been graced by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie to name a few. I’ve personally seen many unforgettable shows there and can’t wait to join Remy and the whole gang on June 5th.

I’ll be playing a livingroom show in Haarlem on Saturday, January 31st. Just me and a guitar singing songs from the albums but also trying some new songs, deep cuts and maybe a cover or two.

Earlier this year I received the news that my friend Michiel (@thisissolomusic ) had suddenly fallen ill and it was uncertain how much time he had left. @theinfluences reached out with the wonderful idea to honor his legacy by having artists that had been touched and influenced by his work over the years record our favorite songs by him.
I decided to record ‘Maria’, a beautiful song of his that I have fond memories of him playing live.
I was a fan of Michiel’s music before we became friends and he was a mentor to me when I first started writing and performing songs of my own, a staunch supporter when I was taking my first shaky steps in the world of music. I’ll always be grateful to him for that and for creating his body of work. Have a listen to ‘Maria’ and all the other beautiful covers by artists like @spinvis.nieuwegein , Anne Soldaat (@banne ), @stephaniestruijk via @theinfluences and have a listen to all of Michiel’s (@thisissolomusic ) albums, he released a fantastic new one just this year.
