We are pleased to present the Shanachie Award for ‘Best Representation of Parade Theme' to Sk8 Cape Cod and Cape Cod Roller Derby! A shanachie (or seanchaí) is a traditional Gaelic storyteller or historian from Ireland and Scotland, serving as an oral repository of old tales, family histories, genealogies, and lore. Historically, they were vital for preserving culture. The tradition continues today, with modern storytellers keeping the spirit alive. Pronunciation: SHAN-uh-kee. Congratulations Sk84capecod and Cape Cod Roller Derby! ☘️

We are pleased to present the Kells Award for ‘Most Artistic use of Design' to St. Pius X School! The Book of Kells is a very old, beautifully decorated book made by monks around 800 AD. It’s a handwritten copy of the four Gospels from the Bible. What makes it famous isn’t just the text—it’s the art. The pages are filled with bright colors, detailed patterns, and tiny designs of animals, people, and symbols, all done by hand. Today, it’s kept in Trinity College Dublin, where people can see it as one of the greatest masterpieces of medieval art. Congratulations St. Pius X School! ☘️

It’s Intentional Women’s Day! We’d like to acknowledge the efforts of our treasurer, Donna Rice! Donna has been an incredibly valuable member of the Parade Committee for many years! Handling finances, securing sponsors, reviewing the line of march and endless other details, she is committed to the parade’s success and it’s very much appreciated! Donna (right) is pictured with 2026 Grand Marshal, Katie Taylor and her mom, Bridget, also incredible women! Thank you, Donna!
