Cap City Half Marathon✨ “Why did you decide to run a half marathon?” I certainly never thought I would be running my first half marathon during my year of service. However, when the opportunity was presented to me, I jumped at it. I decided this would be an incredible way to elevate the mission of #BodyNeutral. I spent months challenging and training my body in new ways. I had to learn how to best prepare my body to run 13.1 miles. Yesterday was the culmination of months of hard work and preparation, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. It was so. much. fun. I remember running Mile 12 and thinking about how incredible it is that my body is able to do this! From a year and a half of post injury recovery to a half marathon in just 3 years - I’m endlessly grateful. So when I was asked on stage yesterday why I decided to run a half marathon, I said that it was so show every young girl watching me that training to be the strongest version of myself, not the smallest version, is always my goal. A MASSIVE thank you to OrangeTheory of Central Ohio for making all of this possible! The Miss Ohio Scholarship Program is incredibly lucky to have you on our team! Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly in organizing the Cap City half - it was truly the perfect day! Thank you to our very own, Katie Hirn and Mom Ohio, for waking up at 5am with me to capture every moment of the day. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support me - it meant more to me than you could ever know. Here’s to growing stronger, always.✨
