Animal playtime is good for the soul! It significantly reduces anxiety, lowers cortisol levels, and boosts social-emotional development for kiddos and adults alike ❤️
We love any opportunity we have to bring new memories to our Thrive 2 Five families. A huge thank you to Frederick Family Farms for bringing their furry friends for a day of fun with their traveling petting zoo!

We recently had the opportunity to be a part of the Beideman Mentorship Initiative at the @millersvilleu Honors College, diving into Artificial Intelligence’s impact on careers and the future of work.
The panel included Honors College alumni representing fields from education and law to finance and tech. Our Chief Development Officer, Kristy Aurand, represented CAP and shared how AI is actively shaping fundraising, event planning, and other aspects of the work. We appreciated the chance to connect with students and offer a real-world perspective on where things are headed.
The Beideman Mentorship Series creates meaningful opportunities for growth and professional mentorship, and we’re grateful to have been part of the experience!
For 60 years, CAP has been part of our community’s story — and we know the most meaningful moments come from the people we’ve had the privilege to serve, support, and grow alongside. ❤️
As we celebrate this milestone year, we’d love to hear from our neighbors:
✨ How has CAP impacted you or your family? ✨ What memories, moments, or stories stand out to you? ✨ What does community support mean to you?
Whether it’s a small moment or a life-changing experience, your story matters — and we’d be honored if you shared it with us as we celebrate 60 years of community, connection, and care. Email or DM your stories to [email protected]!
This Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the incredible educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families every single day. 💛
A special thank you to Melanie, who has served as a Home Visitor for 15 years — but whose journey with Head Start began 40 years ago as a parent herself. Her dedication, compassion, and care have impacted generations of families in our community.
To Melanie and all of our hardworking teachers and staff: thank you for the patience, encouragement, and heart you pour into your work. The seeds you plant today continue to grow for years to come.
What a beautiful day spent growing community together at Crispus Attucks Community Center.
We were honored to partner with the City of Lancaster to provide free plants and seeds to neighbors across our community — helping create more access to fresh food, connection, and opportunities to grow at home.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared smiles, asked questions, and helped make the day so meaningful. We can’t wait to watch these gardens — and our community — continue to bloom. 🌿
