My Sister is Named After My Grandmother.. My Grandmother’s Name is Peggy.
The lovely opportunity was mine to have as I was able to capture my grandma’s all loved and familiar face on film.
It’s not lost on me that I don’t see family enough, or at least sometimes it feels like that, so this intentional feeling or yearn to take my grandma’s portrait has been brewing for some time and now past the capture moment, I cannot wait to give prints to my family.
Thank you for viewing.

“My Nervous Laughter” (2022)
a piece I did based on a poem of the same name. When I first moved to Columbus the landlord at the time left these big pieces of dry wall outside of my apartment. They stayed there, forever blank so I pondered for a while if I sounds recreate some of my past illustrations on them. Someone very close to me gifted me a box of oil pastels and paints & with my roommate at the time/brother they encouraged me to simply paint. The first piece was foggy, unclear. The second one, ambitious & red. This was the third. The poem was the first poem I performed post any scholastic endeavors & existed for me more when anxiety was more prevalent—
*pride, the eruption of ego
finding its way down your throat. cold medicine.
peace, swimming between senses.
on my hook there is hope.
but,
I am no fisher.
my voice, like old paint.
eyes around me, erosion.
peel the paint away. and then only the thoughts are left.
rotting my brain.
existing in pain.
anxiety must be a curse.*
