Are you a young adult looking to get hands on experience maintaining park trees, earn pay, and build real world professional skills this summer?

On March 28, 2026, CanopyBloomington and community volunteers planted nearly 100 trees in the Crestmont and Walnut Woods neighborhoods as part of the city’s Cool Corridor program. 🌳
The city invests in planting trees because they provide much-needed shade along sidewalks to help protect residents from extreme heat exposure. They also help to prevent floods, improve air quality, provide habitat to wildlife, and studies have shown they improve our mental health.
Starting today, April 24th, every dollar you give will be doubled, helping Canopy plant more trees and grow our impact in the community! Donate today through the link in our bio.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Batchelor Heights planting!🌳 We couldn’t have done it without you. Your help made a real difference. 💚
This weekend was so special 🥹🌱 My girl spent her time digging holes and planting trees right here in Bloomington, Indiana, Batchelor Heights and Highlands neighborhoods! This beautiful event was put together by Canopy Bloomington, and as a Girl Scout she got to be part of something so meaningful 🤍
She learned why planting trees matters, how to properly plant them, and how to care for them so they can grow strong. Watching her get her hands dirty and soak up all that knowledge made my mama heart so full 🌳✨
It’s so important to me to pour into her now—teaching her real-life skills, helping her sharpen those mental tools, and watching her grow into a thoughtful, capable little human. So proud of her 💕

Amy volunteers with Canopy because of her deep love for nature and lifelong commitment to the environment. For over 40 years in Bloomington, she has supported green initiatives from leading the Student Environment Action Coalition at Indiana University to co-founding the Bloomington Community Orchard and teaching others how to grow fruit trees. As an educator and community connector, she inspires people to engage with nature, and today she continues her passion as a baker and garden consultant while helping build a greener Bloomington. 🌿
We’re so grateful for volunteers like Amy who help make our mission possible!
