RACE AGAINST MEANING.
When a Turkish team asked me for AI shots of a horse in Cappadocia for one of their projects, I took it as a challenge, and made this short film that asks one question:
If the new is faster… does it automatically deserve to lead?
Its def. not a fair race.
Dont get me wrong: This isn’t anti-AI.
It’s anti-meaningless speed.
This shortfiilm seams like a simple race, until you realize it’s the exact moment we’re living in.
A century of craft meets a decade of acceleration. Hands, scars, patience… against machines, scale, and instant iteration.
What makes this era so fascinating isn’t that technology is getting better. It’s that the definition of “real” is being renegotiated in public, in real time.
Cinema used to be limited by budgets, locations, weather, bodies, and time. Now the limits are dissolving: shot by shot, prompt by prompt. A lot of creatives can finally visualize their visions and show their skills. And every creator is being asked the same question: Do you resist the Ferrari, or learn to drive it without losing the horse?
It has never been easier to simulate art.
And because the simulation is cheap, fast, and everywhere, art risks losing value - not because beauty disappears, but because meaning gets diluted.
AI can generate an image.
But an image isn’t automatically art.
Art is not “aesthetic output.”
Art is intent, taste, risk, context, and a human decision that costs something: time, doubt, restraint, courage. When everyone can press a button and get something that looks “cinematic,” the rare thing becomes what it always was: a point of view.
Using AI doesn’t make someone an artist any more than owning a Ferrari makes someone a racer.
Most people will use the tool to avoid the hard part: thinking, feeling, choosing.
So the value of art won’t be killed by AI.
It will be killed by confusing generation with creation.
But a lot of creatives in this business will be replaced tbh.
We’re living through a rare chapter, when the tools are changing faster than our taste.
And that’s exactly why this time is dangerous… and beautiful.
in a world where anything can be made, the question becomes: Why should it exist?
We did the acoustic version of „ich vermisse dich.“ by lune in 5 days.
10 espresso trinken. Playstation spielen. Kunst machen.
