The evening will begin with an exclusive VIP Hour from 6-7 PM, featuring an open bar, expanded hors d’oeuvres, and early access to the event. General Admission will follow from 7-9 PM, offering a cash bar and catered food for all guests. Throughout the night, attendees will experience CAN You See Me Now, an immersive video installation, enjoy music, and have the opportunity to win rattle prizes featuring locally sourced goods and art. In addition, CAN Journal will debut its Local Holiday Shopping Guide, prior to the release of our Winter magazine issue, designed to spotlight creative makers and organizations across Northeast Ohio. That's @karen_petkovic_artist , an artist in her own right, standing with artist & writer @michael_gill_216 . Without Karen and her extraordinary staff @bayarts_ohio , Dad's show would not have been possible. Karen Petkovic Curated and hung the show in addition to organizing and running the panel along with all she does at BAYarts!🎨 "A thousand, thousand thanks" (to paraphrase Shakespeare) ✍️ And thank you Marissa Siebert for this magnificent photo 📸! #americanart #artgallery #artcriticism #clevelandart #clevelandartist #artforsale #artmuseum #artcollectors #midcenturymodern

Ron Sims II solo exhibition, Altars & Amplifiers, was recently reviewed in CAN Journal by fellow graffiti artist, @bob_peck_art . Peck states, “In a lighthearted tone over dinner this evening, just a few days after the opening, Ron called us “graffiti cousins,” and it really sums up who we are. Ron was mentored by Sano, a Cleveland graffiti pioneer who founded the 1980s crew Doin’ Everything Funky (or D.E.F. for short). Sano went on to form a new crew in the early ’90s called Cleveland Scribe Tribe, and Ron became a member under the pseudonym Tace, a name he used to tag throughout Cleveland and paint colorful pieces along the RTA Red Line.” Ron has thoughtfully curated the exhibition to show pieces from his days as a graffiti artist in the 90’s to new paintings focusing on portraiture. The range of artwork expands on his use of motifs and symbolic language that he has been developing over the decades. If you haven’t seen Altars & Amplifiers yet, make sure to stop Suite 215 Gallery. Altars & Amplifiers is on view through September 27th.
