A unique opportunity in collaboration with Candover Brook and South East Motors gave our members the most incredible “Traitors-style” experience — travelling in a fleet of Range Rovers through the breathtaking Candover Valley to the stunning vineyard.
We were blessed with the spring sunshine as the members gathered for this truly special event. The day began with flutes of their English sparkling in Palmers Bar before setting off on an exclusive drive through the beautiful country lanes.
Members enjoyed learning about the vineyard, the vines, and the history of Candover, all set against some seriously spectacular views.
The experience continued with a tasting of their Brut and Rosé before returning to the Clubhouse for sundowners on the Terrace.
A huge thank you to Candover Brook and South East Motors for collaborating with us on such an unforgettable opportunity for our members. This is the magic of the Clubhouse — where connection and collaboration allow us to host these exclusive events for the members.

WE LIT AGAIN. The third time this year. Frost is a very real worry for vineyards and it’s been a bad year for it across England and France this year.
At 1.45am this morning our trusty frost watch volunteers were called and rallied from their beds. Meeting at the bottom of the vineyard, lighting our vegetable wax candles a third of the way up the vineyard keeping the air circulating. Hopefully raising the temperature just enough to stop the buds freezing.
At 7am the ‘Snuffers’ will head back to the vineyard to put the candles out. Saving the candles for the next time we are called out.
We couldn’t do this without the help of the local community and we give huge thanks to all of you who come out and light and snuff. THANK YOU ALL.
MAY - VINEYARD WORK
Crown Thinning - a time sensitive job we try to do this late spring when the shoots are 5-12 inches long and can easily be done by hand, removing shoots without making deep wounds that could be prone to infection.
We thin the shoots down to manage the vigour of the vine. It ensures a better ratio between vegetation and fruit load whilst directing the growth for the following year. Ensuring better light and airflow to the vine. Air circulation gives the vine better defence against botrytis and powdery mildew.
Careful management done by eye and hand shaping and caring for the vine for this year and next.
