Bird Friends - We're hosting a fun free event this weekend at the Jersey Art Book Fair 2026! 𓆃
May 3rd : Art Workshop: A Homegrown Field Guide to Jersey City ✏✶⋆ ˚。𓅨⋆。°✩
We’ll be leading a walk through nearby Canco Park, demonstrating the art of birding through sound, sight, and feeling — then heading to Mana Contemporary to craft entries for a collaborative, hyper-local field guide. Using collage, drawing, and description, participants document birds and other living things: a specific mockingbird on their block, a distinctive park pigeon, something imagined, or something dreamed.
We want this to be a fun casual mix of art and birding: All levels of artistic talent are welcome! Feel free to contribute through collage or drawing or text or ideas.
We will be bringing some of our own field guides to share and inspire - and we ask attendees to feel free to bring your own favorite field guides to share and inspire others!
Ideal for: urban explorers, pocket park and empty lot enthusiasts, listers, naturalists, people who enjoy nature journaling or collage making, bird lovers, or anyone curious about any of the above!
📝 Free but RSVP ( LINK IN BIO )
⏰ Time: 9AM – 11AM
