I recently returned to @canadasgrill and was reminded of how amazing their food is. It’s a quaint family owned and operated Mexican restaurant that is locally known for their carne en su jugo.
Literally translated to “meat in its juices”, this stew is comprised of beef flank, bacon, and pinto beans that have been simmered in a tomatillo broth. The result is smoky, rich, and bright.
Also fantastic is the torta ahogada—a carnitas sandwich that’s drowned in a chile de árbol sauce.
To sum up, Cañadas Grill is a neighborhood favorite and a hidden gem. I highly recommend giving them a visit and trying their carne en su jugo.
Hit up Cañadas Grill for some legit Mexican vibes
3721 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804
Fried tilapia with asada plate & breakfast burrito were straight fire, plus the chips & salsa are always on point. Don’t sleep on their micheladas – easily one of the best in town
El auténtico sabor mexicano with that perfect family vibe. This spot definitely deserves the love!
One of my favorite spots for cold micheladas and delicious food on Anaheim St. would have to be @canadasgrill
It’s starting to cool down so stop by and order a bowl of their Caldo De Res, this dish reminds of Cambodian beef stew that moms would make, the only thing missing would be that spicy chili lime with fish sauce dip
Their tacos and salsa is bomb af too, definitely order their chicken enchilada plate with both green & red sauce
They got friendly staff and the food here is amazing, definitely a spot to try out if you’re in the area
I love coming to @canadasgrill because the food is always delicious and the service is on point
What we ordered:
Bean & Cheese Burrito Plate, Shrimp & Asada Plate, Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas with an ice cold michelada

I recently returned to @canadasgrill located in the Zaferia area of Long Beach and got one of my favorite soups in the city—the 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐮 𝐉𝐮𝐠𝐨. This place serves traditional Mexican fare with a few items being standout dishes including their tortas ahogadas, aguachiles, and the aforementioned soup.
Carne en su jugo is comprised of flank steak, bacon, and pinto beans that have been simmered in a tomatillo sauce and accompanied by limes, cabbage, pickled onions, onions, cilantro, and roasted jalapeños. The end result is both rich and bright, with a meaty broth coating your palate and punctuated by a citrus zing throughout.
All in all, Cañadas Grill is the spot to go if you’re looking for some warm comforting soup, be sure to tell them I sent ya!
