We want to thank everyone who attended Camp Trans this year. This was our fourth year organising as a DIY arts & camping festival, and our second year at the site in South Wales.
Since our event in September, we’ve received feedback via our survey, group chats, calls and conversations. We are grateful; we see how much the community cares and wants Camp Trans to do better, and we are thankful for the chance and support to do this. We want to acknowledge and offer a sincere apology to everyone who experienced access barriers at this year’s festival and past events. We are deeply sorry. We are committed to doing better.
In this statement, we will describe this year’s access barriers in site layout/terrain, programming, transport, vendors, and team structure. We will describe the factors that led to these access barriers and what steps will be taken to address them.

We are raising money for Camp Trans 2025, our fourth year!
Camp Trans festival is a truly necessary space for trans people, especially this year when there is so much we’re fighting for. As we make our spaces safer and more accessible and more impactful, funds are necessary to evolve. We’re so grateful for all the support so far, please help us make another Camp Trans festival happen.
Our goals are to:
- showcase and pay trans creatives fairly.
- create safer spaces for trans people.
- act as a catalyst for change outside of the festival.

2025 was a miraculous year. It was the first year we ran School of Cvntology and we couldn’t have asked for a better, more memorable cohort.
It was a special time.
The result is now readable in form of an anthology book 📚 Remarkable texts spanning from perfume reviews to queer sports satire by some of the most brilliant people we know.

CAMP TRANS 2025
Escaping into the middle of south wales to live in a tent for 4 days surrounded by other trans+ folk is sometimes the best thing for us.
Existing as a trans person in todays political climate can be scary and often dangerous, but being together with so much shared understanding feels a little bit like home 🫶🏳️⚧️

Starting with simultaneous printmaking and writing exercises, supported by Ruby and Mithago respectively, and moving into collaborative collaging later, the workshop, inspired by mythological and folkloric stories of physical transformation, explores the ideas of collective dreaming and anti-normative sense making of our own bodies.

This offering is designed as a two-part ritual experience, blending intentional conversation with personalised nail art. The process begins with a quiet moment of connection. During the nail prep phase, I will sit with each participant to explore what intentions they wish to focus on for the coming three weeks. This is a time for reflection and clarity, creating space to bring those intentions to the surface. Based on our conversation, I will design a custom sigil — a symbolic representation of their chosen focus — and hand-paint it on their left pointer finger, a channel for direction and initiation. This is more than nail art — it’s a ritual of embodiment, turning intention into a wearable, visible form.

Lou is a genderqueer radical dietitian and performance poet. They are interested in breaking silences, collectively reimagining the stories we live out through food, and expanding possibilities at the confluence of gender, bodies, flourishing to develop liberatory alternatives. Lou works for health justice within a fat liberationist, anti-racist, disability justice framework.

Burn the ladder is a folk musician bearing a sharp tongue and a big heart. She combines the rich story-telling tradition of folk music with the wit and sensibilities of a protest singer in a bitter-sweet catalog of hope, sorrow, joy and fury.
