Kiruna has eight seasons, and this might just be the best one. 'Winter-Spring' is the best time to be outside and enjoy the great outdoors with all it has to offer.
The long hours of sun are best enjoyed outdoors in the vast landscape of Swedish Lapland. Bring a reindeer hide, have a lie down in the snow and enjoy the sun kissing your face. Racing down a mountain on a pair of skiis with the sun shining on your face is the priceless feeling we chase this time of year.

Konaklamamızı Camp Ripan’da yaptık ve her şeyiyle çok memnun kaldık. Biz gittiğimizde hava kapalı olduğu için kuzey ışıklarını otelden göremedik ama çoğu zaman izlenebildiği söyleniyor 😍

Kiruna recently hit around -27°C, but now it’s a bit warmer and excellent weather for being outdoors! At Camp Ripan, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, ice skating, or snowshoeing. Trails and tracks are right outside your cabin and the ice rinks aren’t far either. Adventure awaits just outside the door! ✨
Today marks the return of the sun in Kiruna ☀️ Since 12th December, Kiruna has experienced polar night. During the polar night, the sun does not rise above the horizon. While there has still been some light during the day, we are happy to welcome the sun back.
The sun will continue to rise more and more each day, until we reach midnight sun in early summer. Then, Kiruna will experience 24-hour daylight for a while. Well needed after a long winter!

Gott nytt år! 2025 has been a year illuminated by the northern lights above Kiruna, a Church move, moments of warmth, the stillness of Aurora Spa, local live music evenings, and sustainability work among many other activities. Seasons have shifted, each bringing its own atmosphere and event ❄️
Throughout the year, guests have arrived seeking both adventure and calm. They have left with memories of crisp Arctic air, warm meals, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Nature is close to us at Camp Ripan and it has been our constant calm and beauty.
This year reminds us that Camp Ripan is more than a destination. It is a place for people and nature, activity and rest, everyday life and Arctic magic. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey and everyone who shared their memories with us, we look forward to the next chapter of 2026 together ✨
