SALOME is a new feature screenplay adapted from Oscar Wilde’s Salome and excerpts from The Bible, and presented as a staged reading through @shakingthetreetheatre ’s Open Space Residency. This adaptation folds in themes of revisionist history, Filipino folklore, comedy, and of course, the all-consuming, deadly power of a teenage crush. DANCING ON THE SABBATH at @shakingthetreetheatre We started with the “12 Dancing Princesses” fairy tale and ended with an “invisible” audience, a secret sign language, a prison break escape, sleepover games, dance parties, Goddesses, string surgery, and being FERAL. Cultivating a sisterhood on and off stage was such a gift- I got the experience to have sisters in this life!
