Grabando a Ana de Orbegoso en su taller sobre el Huaco Mochica en el Metropolitan Museum of Art, Nueva York.
El huaco retrato mochica es una cerámica del antiguo Perú, creada por la cultura Moche entre los siglos I y VIII d.C. Lo que lo hace singular es su detalle facial hiperrealista — rostros individuales retratados con una precisión sin igual en el arte precolombino de su época. Se cree que representaban personas reales, quizás líderes o figuras rituales. Una mirada que aún cruza el tiempo. Hoy habitan en los grandes museos del mundo, entre ellos el Met.

The Mochica huaco portrait is an ancient Peruvian ceramic, created by the Moche culture between the 1st and 8th centuries AD. What makes it singular is its hyperrealistic facial detail — individual faces rendered with a precision unmatched in pre-Columbian art of its time. Believed to portray real people, perhaps leaders or ritual figures. A gaze that still crosses time. Today they live in the world’s great museums, including The Met.

Muestra de salón en el Art Students League de Nueva York.
Pintura narrativa, paisaje urbano, cerámica y fresco painting. Lo que más me gustó fueron los retratos de las mujeres y el color de la exhibición. Pero mi favorita: el fresco (num 6) Ese naranja con azul quedó bomba 💣
Quedan varias semanas más de muestras — el próximo fin de semana abren otras clases. Vale la pena verlo con los propios ojos 💓

Salon show at the Art Students League of New York.
Narrative painting, cityscape, ceramics, fresco — all sharing the same room. What stayed with me most were the portraits of women and the color of the whole exhibition together. But my favorite: the fresco. That orange against blue hits hard.
Several more weeks of shows ahead — next weekend other classes open too. Worth seeing in person.
La Liga @aslnyc lleva 150 años como escuela de arte y fue creada por artistas para artistas. Me encanta el espíritu que hay entre los estudiantes y los profesores, y hay gente de todas las edades. Es mi lugar favorito en la ciudad, sin duda 🤍
