Two writers find their romantic entanglement taking a sharp turn when they realize they hold conflicting views on the ethics of writing. 📍We’re thrilled to announce that Debra Oswald's latest novel, One Hundred Years of Betty, has been shortlisted for General Fiction Book of the Year at the 2026 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA)! One Hundred Years of Betty tells the story of Betty who, on the eve of her hundredth birthday, recounts a life spanning decades of history, social upheaval, and personal reinvention. From her early years in pre-war London to post-war Australia, Betty’s journey takes her through the anti-war and feminist movements of the 1970s, the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, and a career as a TV screenwriter; always pushing against the limits imposed on her by time and circumstance. We’d also like to congratulate Zoe Terakes, whom we represent as a screenwriter and playwright, whose novel Eros has been shortlisted for Literary Fiction Book of the Year at this year’s awards.
