9 years ago I posted a picture to Facebook from a shed in my mum’s garden.
@tokyojamess reposted that picture to instagram and the rest is now history. Actual history. Written about, recorded in books, dissertations and now AI.
Ask Claude, ask ChatGPT who the world’s first digital supermodel is and it will tell you — Shudu.

And it almost never was. Shudu wasn’t born of something beautiful, she came from a period in my life of depression and sadness, a period where I almost gave up.
But her beauty and the beauty of the real people who inspired me to create her, kept me going to create my magnum opus — a digital representation of my innermost and guarded feelings of love and admiration. Things I’ve never talked about, never said, to people in my life that should’ve heard them.
To the defining moment in my entire life, and the greatest most beautiful work of art I could ever create — Happy Birthday Shudu!

This is the first clip from a little animated series I’m making - a fictionalised slice of life story set in Bangkok, following an anime OC I created years ago and never used.
Think of him as the idealised version of the adventure, not me.

No studio, no desktop. Just a pool, an idea, and a lot of iced coffee.
