🏃➡️ We are recruiting participants for a 3D Capture Study at CAMERA!
We are recruiting 25 people to participate in a dataset creation project using our volumetric and photogrammetry capture systems that will take around 60minutes. This initiative will contribute to ongoing research and development in digital human representation. The research is part of MyWorld - Bristol Bath project.
Find out more on the CAMERA website if you would like to take part
We were delighted to welcome Helen Godwin Mayor of the West of England to CAMERA at the University of Bath to meet our researchers using cutting-edge motion capture technology with applications across healthcare, digital technologies and the creative industries.
The visit showcased how through CAMERA, which is part-funded by WECA, the University works closely with start-ups and SMEs, supporting the creative industries and contributing to the ambitions set out in WECA’s new Growth Strategy.

Congratulations to Adam Hartshorne who brilliantly presented MyWorld - Bristol Bath research on correspondence-free interpolation and matching of 3D articulated shapes (eg people and animals) in the SIGGRAPH Asia technical paper session “All About the Motion”.
The talk explored innovative approaches to understanding and animating complex shapes without relying on traditional correspondence methods, opening new possibilities for motion analysis and creative applications. It was followed by a Q&A and results share.

Congratulations to CAMERA Studio Engineer Jake Willott and Dr Elena Seminati who did a BRILLIANT job, speaking at last week’s 3rd Prosthetics and Orthotics conference at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
Presenting on ‘A Methodology for Predicting Post-Amputation Residual Limb Volume Change,’ Jake was delighted with how his talk was received and the brilliant ongoing conversations and potential onward connections he was able to make.

Do you want to explore how virtual production, XR, motion capture, or photogrammetry could transform your business?
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) might be the perfect route to working with us at CAMERA.
But wait! What even is a KTP???
- A 3-way collaboration between your business, @uniofbath , and a graduate
- Designed to tackle a strategic challenge
- Projects last 12–36 months
- Part-funded by Innovate UK (up to 66% for SMEs)
- Highest grant success rate (around 70%)
We were totally inspired at last night’s brilliant “Innovation through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships” event which celebrated achieving our 200th KTP at the University of Bath (Great work Chris Tickell Shannon Stodd Jason Edwards Laura Simpon and the whole Partnerships team!)
The power of academia–industry partnerships is real and accessible and we'd love to talk with YOU about ideas you might have for developing at KTP with us!
If you're interested in exploring your ideas, you can:
- Book a CAMERA innovation surgery with Eva Martino: https://lnkd.in/eqENGQ_Y
- Email us: [email protected]
Want to learn more about KTPs? Check out this blog - https://lnkd.in/e7SrJrRR
Or you can contact [email protected] for more info
(Special shout out thanks to Eva Martino, Graham Oliver Harry Davies Rebekah Hole Steffi Colyer for being on hand to talk to event attendees about CAMERA. Great work team!)

🤞 🙌 💪 Please join us in wishing CAMERA Studio Engineer Jake Willott lots of luck as he takes to the stage later today (14:45 to be precise!) at the 3rd Prosthetics and Orthotics conference at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
Jake will be presenting work he has been doing supporting Dr Elena Seminati and Alexander Power (IAH) to develop ‘A Methodology for Predicting Post-Amputation Residual Limb Volume Change.’
“I’ll be sharing the team's research on creating a pipeline to predict post-amputation limb shape and volume change, using machine learning and 3D models,” says Jake.
“Being able to make these predictions during post-amputation rehabilitation, could help inform prosthetic device fitting, design and timing.”
Best of luck Jake, we’re sure you’ll do us (and the research team) proud!
